Well, my son is now at an age that he can crawl out of sight in the few moments I turn away, which is quite a terrifying thing to be newly made aware of in the middle of one of the more violent days of this war.

Hey don’t cry, Aeneas’ son makes Andromache think off her little Astyanax okay?

ODYSSEUS THROWING ASTYANAX OFF A CLIFF DID NOT HAPPEN IN HOMER'S ODYSSEY WTF
Ares or Astyanax/Scamandrius?
Our lord of death and destruction
The truest joy Troy would know
So we all know that Astyanax/Scamandrius, being an infant during the Iliad, was born during the war.
Now I can't stop imagining Hector making SURE that he stays alive during Andromache's pregnancy. He, for once, takes less risks on the field, because he NEEDS to live long enough to meet his child.
Also the concept of Andromache going into labor while Hector is fighting would be so chaotic. Like the Greeks and Trojans finish their fighting for a day, only for someone to come running and announcing that the baby is coming.
Hector RUNNING to the room Andromache is, not even caring about the blood still dripping from his armor - all that matters right now is her.
When their son finally is born, Hector weeps. He weeps because he is so, so happy and delighted and already imagining all the horse rising they can all do together and all that he'll teach his little star.
Hector weeps because whether he likes it or not, his little Scamandrius was born in the middle of a war and he is TERRIFIED that he might not live to see his boy grow up (his boy will not grow up at all)
Yeah. Just thoughts.
