Cosplayed Polites watching the Odyssey movie today yaaaaaaaaa
Honest opinion on the Odyssey: it’s so peak. Eurylochus is my favorite character now
It was a really cool take on Homer’s epic. It’s a dark and serious movie and I always knew it was gon be good just not THIS good. The scenes were beautifully shot, the acting was phenomenal (especially Antinous), and the overall story was written with fire. The scare factor was well done, body horror, displaying genuine fear, and making it feel like they’re actually in danger instead of smth they could’ve easily avoided (mostly but that scene was intentional)
The ending was perfect. The final battle, build up, emotions, and throwbacks makes it really feel like Odysseus has finally reached his goal after going through that journey. I can say the same for the intro too. It was small and a bit vague to give some context, and then it all clicks and connects sooner into the movie
