Ok I know aro posts being tagged as aroace is annoying but also. Aromanticism is very much part of the aroace experience ? Unless the post is specifically about allosexual aromantic I think it's kind of weird to police other aspecs' tagging system about their own identity. I get the annoyance of people tagging posts relating to your identity in a way you don't relate to but also it's just such a non issue. 'why is this post tagged aroace when there's no mention of asexuality?' well maybe because aroace people are aromantic too idk.

I've seen several posts complaining about Bloodymary from people who apparently don't know how content filtering works, so I just wanted to say, as an aroace myself, please stop telling others they're harming aro, ace, or aroace people by doing fandom their own way. Aroace people aren't a monolith, actually. Some of us enjoy shipping content, Bloodymary included! Like with all fandom content, if you're not seeing enough of what you want, it's on you to start creating or organizing events for the things you do want to see.

Telling people they're wrong and need to consider YOUR feelings before playing with dolls is rude, actually. You're allowed to be disappointed (feelings are okay ✅️), but don't take it out on others (actions and words should not cause harm, and you shouldn't be demanding undue entitlements 🚫). Part of fandom is community, and community means sometimes you have to engage with things you don't necessarily care about because other people enjoy it. If it really bothers you, you block it. I have a LONG list of filtered words and tags, and I add to it regularly. If people refuse to tag appropriately, they also get blocked. I recommend you start doing this.

I'll be honest, every single aro, ace, and aroace flag variation that includes a stripe for "the love we DO feel" fundamentally misunderstands what aspec people are fighting for. You guys are unintentionally spouting aphobic rhetoric that treats lack of attraction as a backseat to the 'more important' presence of attraction/love.

Im saying this as an aroace lesbian interested in dating!!! Im all for trying to improve understanding of aspec people who pursue relationships or feel other types of attraction, but I truly feel the flags should be a universal symbol for ALL aspec people. We shouldnt include a stripe on a flag meant to represent the love we feel, because aspec people should not be forced to define or validate themselves through that!

The current flags already achieve representing the spectrum of aro and ace identities in a way that feels inclusive of all aspec identities without feeling like its screaming "see! we feel love too! validate us!"

can someone please explain to me (genuinely) the whole discourse with shipping aro characters, because idk if it's just me, but people always say, "it's invalidating their aroaceness" but i think that just enforces the idea that aros can't date. and they can, and they aren't any less aro when they do, so in my mind it's okay? so i don't really get the issue with it. i do know that it shouldn't be the default, and we shouldnt assume they NEED a relationship tho.
