Compared to the first two sets, the third set was a one-way affair, which began with Flavio's loose service game, as well as Arthur's return, topped by the ninth seed's forehand error that converted the Brit's break point to 1-0. Not long after, the wild card saved Flavio's break point with two successful smashes before consolidating his position to 2-0. Not long after, Arthur fired a re-drop 2 points into the third game, with a forehand error from the Italian causing the former's double-break lead to 3-0.
Arthur's wild card then strengthened his position with a hold to 4-0, where he continued putting pressure on Flavio with a forehand down-the-line winner 3 points into the fifth game (to 4-0* 15-30) before tripling his break advantage with a working smash to 5-0. As a result, the wild card earned his chance to serve for the match, which he succeeded (6-0) moments after firing an intuitive volley to set up his match point to secure his spot in the semifinals.

Flavio then began the second set with a forehand pass 2 points into the first game (to 0-0* 0-30) before he broke early to 1-0, only to be broken back again to 2-2 as Arthur began the fourth game with a fourth-shot forehand winner, followed by a smooth forehand winner finish in the first 2 points. The British wild card then began the fifth game with a decent defense, setting up his game point eith a successful volley (40-30) before consolidating his position to 3-2. Arthur then continued with a slice to Flavio's forehand, followed by the latter's backhand error before holding to 4-3.
Not long after, Flavio finished a rally with a drop-shot to close the gap in the ninth game, but despite the possible scoreboard pressure question, Arthur remained solid and held to 5-4. The latter then began the twelfth game with a forehand winner, but Flavio's hold to 6-6 made the tie-break unavoidable to settle this set. It all came down to a few points near the ending, where even if Arthur's earlier set point was foiled thanks to Flavio's volley (6-4), the Brit still took the opening set 7-6(4) to put himself in front position as he took both sets in this match.

The other week, an interesting Wimbledon Men's Singles Quarterfinals then featured ninth seed Flavio Cobolli, who knocked out fifth seed Alex de Minaur 7-5, 7-6(4), 6-3 in the fourth round, and wild card Arthur Fery, who enjoyed a home breakout after knocking out his fellow wild card recipient and former Top 10 player Grigor Dimitrov 7-5, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(7) in a thriller. Considering their previous meeting, which Arthur won to open his Australian Open campaign, this gave the Brit more confidence to handle this match despite the Italian's previous efforts.
After 2 consecutive holds, Flavio's forehand pass 3 points to the third game (to 1-1* 30-15), but Arthur remained solid and still held his serve to 2-1. The Brit then began the fourth game with a fourth-shot forehand pass (to 2-1* 0-15), followed by a successful volley a point later despite Flavio's hold to 2-2. The wild card then followed it up with another forehand winner to 3-2.
Not long after, the ninth seed tried to redirect Arthur from the back, with his forehand winner set up his break point in the seventh seed (to 3-3* 30-40), but the latter massively held to 4-3 to close that game. Fast-forward to the tenth game, where pressure points handling became crucial, Flavio fired a working volley to close the deficit (to 5-4* 15-15) after a net exchange, but it was insufficient as his failed volley and double-fault set up Arthur's set point, which was converted due to his +1 forehand going wide. As a result, the wild card broke for the opening set 6-4 to secure the opening set in his hands.
