I hate when you feel the tic coming on. The way it builds against your neck, presses into your ribs. Sometimes your insides seem to shiver with the cold and refuse to shiver properly on the outside.
I hate when it's right there, so you pause and wait, and it doesn't come as fast as you want. So your left feeling extremely uncomfortable and looking moderately stupid to anyone who doesn't know why you've been humming irritably and staring at the sink for two minutes.
reminder again that anxiety, ocd, autism, adhd, trauma, fnd, pandas/pans, etc., do NOT cause tics
if you have tics you have a tic disorder
if you have at least two motor tics and one vocal tic you have tourette syndrome
also remember that there's a lot of different types of involuntary movements
some random person: "my doctor diagnosed me with ADHD tics sooooo"
girL why are you letting a family doctor diagnose you with a complex NEUROLOGICAL issue?? ! they're doing medical malpractice at best.
a neurologist is the ONLY person qualified to diagnose tics, not because your family doctor is stupid, but neurology encompasses entirely different things from general medicine and needs to be seen by a specialist who actually knows the nuances of the many many many movement disorders out there that can be mistaken for tics and could KILL YOU.
aH.
PEOPLE WITH ADHD AND WHO ARE ACCIDENTALLY DEVELOPING TICS, CLAP YOUR HANDS!
