it's sooo painful to take care of kids from a very young age and see them get to elementary school & start conforming to stereotypes to fit into groups... im really seeing a shift in the kids i babysit, especially those i see less often. it becomes harder to have a conversation, because caring about things is stupid, learning is stupid, being kind is stupid. i dont blame them, their environment doesn't reward curiosity or kindness, so it makes sense. i need to change the world and make acts of kindness the biggest trend of 2026...

there's something inherently interesting about the fact that Fanon Sokka (as in, the sokka shaped by fandom perception, and not sokka as read through a fanonian lens, which is actually something i highly recommend more people do) is the type of person Canon Sokka would actively despise. basically every iteration of FS, from the scatterbrained clown (of which zukka shippers are partial) to the lazy sexist (of which zutara shippers are partial) to the arrogant dudebro (miscellany) to the self-absorbed failson (of the actual live action atla series currently being produced by netflix) is exactly the type of teen boy sokka would quietly fantasize about severing neck from body with a single clean slice of his blade. sokka loves aang dearly, but in the moments when he's most prone to willfully ignoring his problems to fancifully play around, you can literally see sokka's vein popping from his forehead as he holds himself back from actively wringing his little neck. sokka does actively deck hahn in the face for his myriad crimes of incompetence, misogyny, and classist condescension. sokka has a bad feeling about jet from the very first moment he lays eyes on him, and his gut instinct almost immediately proves to be correct. even zuko, who is arguably the only teenage boy sokka has ever remotely enjoyed the company of, only earns such a prestigious title after going to such insane lengths to prove his loyalty that sokka has no choice but to stop tacitly praying on his downfall. and while sokka doesn't necessarily dislike haru, as he has the most unobjectionable personality of possibly any character in the entire show, he still basically only ever acknowledges his presence at all to remark upon his hideous mustache. if sokka were to be acquainted with that insidious pretender from voltron or that white devil from netflix studios, there is no doubt in my mind that sokka prime would loathe these obnoxious freaks with every fiber of his being. unlike the deep and profound connection he forges with basically every teenage girl he meets (who isn't actively antagonizing him, such as azula), sokka hates teenage boys as a demographic implicitly. which is why it's so offensive when people insist on portraying him as one of the worst offenders the entire demographic has to offer. in all ways but physical, sokka is a curmudgeonly old man (hence why he is so appreciated by the wokest members of the white lotus), a uhaul lesbian (hence why he is so appreciated by gorgeous bicurious dykes across the globe), or the very personification of the scientific method (hence why the spirits cannot fucking stand him but also lowkey find him fascinating and tantalizingly sexy). and it is important that we recognize this because, well.......... i like him. i think he's neat. okay, yeah. this has been a psa or whatever
