ugh i fucking hate deindustrialization. even in the small timeframe where SOME global south countries started industrializing to be able to become self-sufficient, every single move made both by communists and "nationalists" (these having a false class consciousness) to acquire greater economic (and therefore, political) sovereignty was followed by intense backlash from the imperial core. now, with the onset of neoliberalism, there are no big industrial cores for the internal market - all few industrial areas are propelled to export to the imperial core - and the rest of the economy is entirely based off agricultural export and services. how will any country in latin america finally resist USamerican imperialism when their entire economy has been diminished to exporting every single resource to the imperial core and their internal consumer market entirely depends on importing from actually industrialized nations?
