I invite ALL cross stitch designers to comment in on this post with their pattern program annoyances..."Not a big deal annoyances but still annoying" I'll start. The top left picture. Those are the specialty stitches you can create for PC stitch. What does that mean? It means, I can go in and design what are essentially, stamps. I don't need to explain what a stamp is. Though, notice the plethora of specialty stitches at my disposal, to hopefully (I'm optimistic) make pattern work faster. All these stamps are of my own design, or taken from creative commons public domain. I intend to make more, as needed. Can't have too many borders, or flowers, or decorative finials. Notice (more so If you scroll through the images), how small the thumbnails are. It can make some of the stitches hard to see, unless I stamp it on my canvas. The last 3 images are my color palette. For this demonstration, I have colorfully chosen 100 colors. Notice how, with pixel heart for scale, I can adjust the size of my blocks. I can even go BIGGER than the last one. Oh, feel free to snatch that heart for your own use. DEAR PC STITCH PROGRAMERS!! I would VERY much like to have that SAME option for my specialty stitches. I don't care if I have to scroll FOR 3 MINUTES! AT LEAST I COULD SEE THEM ALL! It's usually, just the backstitch stamps that give issue. but, some of those borders and corners, WOULD BE NICE IF I COULD SEE THE DETAIL SO I KNOW WHICH BORDER I AM PICKING OUT. So, yeah. Can someone answer this new pattern question with their own theory please: Why can't a Sim exit a room if there is a plate in the way? I mean, there is no wrong answer here. I think it's because the plate creates an invisible, vertical, force field. If they try to pass through it, they'll get shocked and die. So! It's new pattern time! This one, a cross between my stained glass coloring book, and a very popular simulation game. One I haven't played in forever. Enjoy this new pattern, and perhaps get creative with it! 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲! 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧! It may not look like much since last time, but. I am sailing along. I LOVE how it's mostly just fill in at this point. I can leave the pattern behind. I'll need it later for the finger nails, and the text in the ribbon, but that's it. This test stitch is bringing me such joy! I don't test stitch my own pieces often, but when I do, I put in all my love, making it a transformation to something magical. Plus, despite it's slicker differences, I am enjoying working with the satin thread. It knots less. And when it does, it seems to pull out (tee hee) easier. We all have our stories. That funny thing that happened to your pet when they got their head stuck in a tissue box. When you tried to reach for something on the other side of the table, and ended up doing a barrel roll off the chair and crashing to the floor, and craft supplies (see saved story on my profile) We all need a good laugh on Fridays. In reference to the memes, thank you pattern. For when I stubbed my pinky toe in the middle of the night "JESUS FUCK!" I shouted. HA. Anyway. I was awoken one night because my bladder was yelling at me. Gotta appease the bladder gods, right? Or they won't let you sleep. Now, here is where I explain things step by step when I get up to go to the bathroom. So you get a better visual. Really and TRULY visualize this. 𝟏. I make my way to the door in pitch blackness. 𝟐. I shuffle slowly to get there, as our bedroom is always mess. I don't want to trip and fall. 𝟑. I feel that I am in the clear 𝟒. I no longer need to shuffle. 𝟓. I now walk at a normal human pace, since the bathroom is an immediate left turn out of the bedroom, straight shot to the bathroom door. 𝟔. I walk toward the bedroom door. 𝟕. I don't slow down as one would when going to open the door. 𝟖. I keep walking. 𝟗. *𝐁𝐀𝐌!!* 𝟏𝟎. Cue me, sleepy and confused. Then opening the door. WHY?!?! WE ALWAYS KEEP THE BEDROOM DOOR CLOSED! Why would that night have been any different?! So, I sat on the toilet to pee, and started cracking up. Calling all spreadsheet nerds! Come feel soothed with me! I need them now. Executive dysfunction says so. I am so far out of the pattern game, and now equipped with new knowledges on bettering my etsy and my patterns. Which means, that checklists are essential to make sure I have everything included in the pattern that needs to be included so that the stitcher an easy stitch experience. Help me out here: Here are some versions I include with my PDF's, if applicable. Better to include several versions, than not enough and a stitcher has headaches stitching. What other versions of PDF patterns do you like to have? Let me know! And I'll add in some columns! Black fields means that I don't need it. Yellows mean "It's done!" and grey means "needs to be done". This is going to help SO much so that I don't keep saving PDF's only to go "SHIT!" as I realize I forgot some important info and have to re-do the PDF again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again. Which is a true story. So, pattern work is coming along.
