It is FACSIMATING how ableist AND ageist people get when a minor has any sort of mental or physical distress.

"you can't have a bad back you're too young!" And then the kid has spinal issue later in life cause no one ever got them checked when it started

"You think your legs hurt now? Just wait until you have a job!" And then the kid never gets a job cause their legs just kept getting worse and now they can't be in their feet for more than a couple of hours without feeling like they'll collapse.

"you don't have [insert mental disirder] you're just making excuses!" and then the kid ends up kilking themself cause their mental health kept spiralling and no one ever tried to get them into therapy, let alone an actual diagnosis.

And so on and so forth. Idc how much you think they're "faking it" to get out of something, if your kid says/thinks something is seriously wrong with them, take them seriously, worst case scenario is that you get confirmation that they're lying.

(though knowing how doctors are they probably aren't gonna help at all)
