Hi, I study social and cultural anthropology. Humans working 40+ hours a week is 100% an industrial revolution thing and was not normal in the early stages of our existence. In fact, hunter and gatherer societies that still exist to this day spend about 15-20 hours a week TOPS working. The rest is dedicated to sitting around and telling stories and jokes, dancing, singing, eating, sleeping, fucking and so forth. Read a damn book.

as a general rule. if what we’re calling ‘cultural appropriation’ sounds like nazi ideology (i.e. ‘white people should only do white people things and black people should only do black people things’) with progressive language, we are performing a very very poor application of what ‘cultural appropriation’ means. this is troublingly popular in the blogosphere right now and i think we all need to be more critical of what it is we may be saying or implying, even unintentionally.

One of my favorite parts of bubbline is you got this pink princess literally MADE of candy and then an emo/punk rock vampire queen who’s father is the king of basically hell and the candy one has committed many war crimes and various atrocities and the vampire gets emotional over her teddy bear

What IS even the point of stories like these? Are we supposed to be like “oh no….now we can’t do anything about the environment. They got us.” We can keep the asthma inhalers if we just regulate industry as much as it ought to be regulated.

Not only will it give Amazon a new market to lord over, but more data on its customers. Knowing what illnesses a person has will help them sell other items by advertising things that will seem tantalizing. Bipolar makes you impulse buy? Amazon will know that. Depression makes you crave sweets? Amazon can sell that. Bezos doesn't care how predatory this business practice is because he's a monster and all of humanity is his prey.
