aziraphale telling crowley βmaybe one day we could go for a picnicβ absolutely gnaws at my insides. god, itβs such a soft, simple request. a picnic. sharing a blanket and a meal in the sunshine.
it would be easy. for anyone but them.
I've never been so excited to watch a TV show and so let down by what I saw.
there are a lot of Extremely Married moments in good omens, but I maintain that the Most Married moment is when crowley says out of nowhere, βducks! theyβre what water slides off.β and aziraphale heaves a deeply put-upon sigh and says, ββ¦.just drive the car.β
a close runner up is when Aziraphale wants to do magic at Warlockβs birthday party and Crowley just goes, βMake you disappearβ, and Aziraphaleβs not put out in the slightest
and third place goes to βOh Lord, heal this bikeβ
βNot you, I know what you smell like.β
Iβm sorry, but the Most Married Moment is the compromise:
A: βYou lost the child.β C: βWeΒ lost the child.β A: βA child has been lost.β
This actually makes me so sad...
Everything ended on such a bleak note, both in universe and in the fandom itself.
And now it's over.
The story and message that so many people fell in love with in the book and S1 was not only brushed aside, but rendered pointless in the new canon.
Anathema, Newt, Shadwell, Madame Tracy, Nina, Maggie and ALL the people of the old universe were erased from existence without a say or even a mention.
There was never an old bookshop on the corner of Whickber Street, and never a vintage Bentley parked just outside it.
And Aziraphale and Crowley, OUR Aziraphale and Crowley, never made it to the south downs, despite what we were promised.
And this post just felt like the showrunners officially wiping their hands of the whole thing for good. So we'll probably never get any closure in regards to any of it.

Season 3 dragged the whole series down on RT
Wonder why
Book Ineffable Husbands react to Good Omens season 2
the comfort never ends it seems- he has to suck it all up like a sponge.
I love how Michael is tearing up during that whole interview and (lovingly) calls David a heartless zombie with no soul for not being as emotional. I may not be into good omens that much anymore but their dynamic will always be dear to me
I'm glad that they found good friends in one another, as middle-aged male friendships are hard to come by, apparently.
It's funny to think that because they did that show together, now their daughters are best friends, their wives are best friends, their families are intertwined, and they were able to find comfort in each other during a global pandemic, and in doing so brought comfort to the millions who watched along.

Whatever they wrote in all those empty books would become reality. That thread was there. That solution was ready. All they had to do was write that the Earth wasn't destroyed, that all the angels and demons were retired, no longer beholden to systems (Heaven and Hell) that no longer existed, and that G-d and Satan were never heard from again.
I get that they wrote Them into the bookshop to ask questions, but they could have written Them right back out, right? They could have used the established enormous power of their love to do so much.
I wonder if the Finale divide is based on age at all. I've always appreciated that the fandom is old and so the fans come in all age categories.

And we kissed as though nothing could fall.
oh, but imagine if your tumblr dash was now flooded with gifs and pictures of aziracrow hugging and kissing and saying 'i love you'. imagine if you could replay that moment when they hugged so tightly and grin widely, kicking your feet all giddy and happy
what if everyone was comforted by the finale? if there was no fight over who is in the right, just as we were all united in pain after s2? if everyone was happy, including them and including us? if that 90 minutes gave us what we were hoping for? if the finale wasnt so cold and heartless and instead loving and tender? if they actually ended up in their south downs cottage and there were nightingales and we would actually see it and they would be free and happy and-

Podfic: Love and Solidarity
My second fic for Pride 2026 is the amazing story written by my dear friend @cemeteryangel725. It features anarchist activist Crowley and Southern Lawyer Aziraphale, reuniting in 2004 after meeting at a summer camp as teens.
It is also, I am thrilled to say, a birthday gift for my friend @eybefioro! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRIEND!! I MADE YOU SOMETHING! I truly hope you enjoy my southern voiced Aziraphale π. I canβt wait to hear what you think.
Summary: 2004. New York City. The Republican National Convention.
It was always a possibility that Crowley would be arrested. He'd written the number for the National Lawyers' Guild on his arm before heading out to join the protest march, after all. But he wasn't exactly expecting to have the worst night of his life β or to find out that his lawyer is Aziraphale Fell.
And fuck, he looks just as kissable as he did at summer camp twelve years ago. What is Crowley going to do?
