cry a little about it

With the stormy weather coming to the Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas in the next few days, I decided to work on a storm protection spell to ease my mind. I hope this is useful for y'all!

materials:

jar (i recommend a jar that’s more short-and-wide, as opposed to tall-and-narrow).

blue candle, to represent water

yellow candle, to represent thunder and lightning

black candle, to absorb damage

white candle, to represent heavy winds

dirt from your home, to represent stability

a print-out of your home, or address written on a piece of paper, or anything else to represent your home (in my case, i used a flower that matches the name of my street)

something to tie into knots - twine, a small piece of rope, thread, etc (something small enough to fit into your jar)

instructions:

1. cleanse your space/your materials; meditate on your intentions; open your circle — just prep for your spell work however you typically prep.

2. arrange your area like so:

the idea is to make your space mimic the symbol for air (🜁)

3. place the dirt in the bottom of your jar. on top of it, place the item(s) that represent your home.

4. next, you’ll light your blue candle. imagine the water from a rainstorm pouring down all around you. imagine the sound and smell of the rain.

5. next, light the yellow candle. imagine the bright flashes of lightning, followed by the booming thunder that accompanies it.

6. next, you’ll light your white candle — imagine the howling winds, whipping all around you and making your house creak.

7. now, you’ll take your rope, and knot it three times, saying with each knot: “You are bound from wrecking devastation. Let there be no hesitation in turning your force away.”

8. drop the rope in your jar, saying: “Danger be contained that my beloved home may be unscathed until this peril passes.”

9. close your jar tightly. now, take your black candle, light it, and allow a few drops of wax to fall on the jar. place the candle on top of your jar, and allow all the candles to burn through. if you’d like, you can meditate during this point and imagine all the elements (water, thunder, and the wind) around your home, with the black candle absorbing all the damage and negativity.

10. after the candles have burnt out, place the jar somewhere dark and secure (like a closet or bathroom cabinet) until the storm has passed.

11. after the storm has passed, take your jar, open it back up, and place it in the sun for 3 days, allowing the sun to "dry up all the rain". after the 3 days, you may discard what’s inside the jar and re-purpose it (i recommend using it to store some kind of water — moon water, sun water, rain water, snow water, etc!)

In honor of Valentine’s Day, here is a powerful spell for speaking your heart. Do not use this on people you can easily reach through natural means. It is meant to connect you to souls who no longer have a vessel… strangers you have only once seen… or someone you have met just in your dreams.

STEP 1: Write a letter.

You do not have to know the person’s name. Writing “Dear You” while thinking of their likeness is more than sufficient.

As always, natural paper uncoated with polymers, as well as pencil instead of processed ink, are what will help you acquire supernatural aid.

STEP 2: Stamp it.

Ready yourself for sleep. Prepare to never get up again before sunrise.

While sitting on your bed, use a red marker — anything dark, strong and long-lasting — to write on the palm of your right hand:

STEP 3: Post it.

Read your letter out loud. With feelings. As if the person is right in front of you.

The more sincerely you speak, the greater the chance of them hearing you.

STEP 4: Transport it.

Hold the letter in your right hand as you lie down. Make sure it is touching the red writing.

Close your eyes and sleep. Use the roads between the veils to transport your message.

STEP 5: Protect it.

When you wake up, wherever you find the letter: under a pillow, on the floor… do not move it. If that means you have to leave your bed unmade, so be it.

Throughout the day, do not consciously remove the writing on your palm. Wash your hands and take a bath, but do not actively scrub away the ink.

When every line and dot has faded, it means your letter has been “read”.

Do with it what you will afterwards. It has already served its purpose.

STEP 6: Wait for a reply.

Their response will also travel between the veils.

It could come in the form of a dream or a waking vision, as well as a message on a billboard or a conversation you overhear.

Weighing of the Heart Spread

In Ancient Egypt (and now through Kemeticism), it is believed that when the deceased arrived in the Duat, their heart was weighed on a scale against a feather of Ma'at's in order to see if the person was worthy of to live forever in paradise (if not, their heart was devoured by Ammit).

This spread draws from that story, and lays out what you need to know about yourself and what you need to do in order to grow!

1. How do you currently see yourself?

This card touches on your idea of yourself- do you see yourself positively or negatively? What do you think of your current self?

2. What are you really like?

Following up on the first card, this card brings up what you are actually like, not just your self image. How does it vary from what you see?

3. What are you balancing?

What are you able to do in order to see yourself as you truly are? What do you need to do to "balance" those two view points?

4. What does your ideal self look like?

This card touches on what your "perfect" or "ideal" self, and how they would look or act.

5. What can you do to actually grow?

Your intuition is your best friend; better to be wrong and safe than right and silent.

Your digestion knows when something is off.

Not everyone has to believe you, and not everyone is worth telling.

Divination is here to guide you, not to define you.

Magick is science, psychology, intention, and unknowns.

Tools are only focuses; you are all you need.

There is energy in everything; atoms are moving all around us, each working together to keep the universe from unravelling. How bold of us to assume we aren't able to witness that energy.

Even if this is all bullshit (it isn't, in my experience), it's fun, and laughter is the best medicine.

Sometimes the aesthetic is half the fun.
