I don't think the TME privilege trans men experience is equivalent to male privilege. We can reap male privilege under certain circumstances (eg in situations where genuinely no transphobes are present or if we go stealth) but we do often experience misdirected misogyny on top of (and often as a function of) transphobia. The nurse telling me to stop whining because he perceives me as a woman will not stop when I tell him I'm a trans man (and might in fact treat me even worse because now conscious transphobia has been added to the mix)
Did you read my post? Please go back to the start of the second paragraph. And if it's not "male" privilege I really don't know what you'd call it, I'm not sure trans men would like being grouped with cis people under "TME privilege", I have more respect for them than that.
I think basically even if a trans woman is really, Really wrong about a sensitive topic, the most she deserves is a block on social media, and not like. A whole hate campaign seeking to wipe her off the face of the internet and possibly the earth. Is what I think.
seeking to socially isolate society's most vulnerable type of person for having a poorly formed opinion probably definitely creates an environment which fosters the formation of better opinions im sure. Im sure it also makes people who have actually been hurt by any real materially harmful behavior feel safe about speaking up bc they know that the focus will be on solutions and not become the catalyst for a hate campaign that expands to even the most tangetally related parties. Transmisogynized people, if they don't pass as fem or androgynous/genderless, don't immediately revert back to being seen as men. We're seen as freaks, weirdos, perverts, rapists, pedophiles. Something that TME people, cis, stealth, non-passing, in the closet, statistically are much less likely to experience.
