A grave mistake.

Not only has he had to endure Shang Qinghua's scolding for the damage to the compound. But now he also has double the paperwork due to the dozens of letters from alphas asking for permission to court him (2/3 of the alphas are demons).

But even if it's not migraine, you still deserve treatment for your headaches. Just because someone else has them worse than you doesn't mean you don't deserve relief.

Shen Jiu was an asshole. He canonically ambushed a Bai Zhan disciple and initiated most fights with Liu Qingge, even saying that he’ll one day definitely kill him. Granted, he probably said this while face down in the mud, insulted and lashing out and the fact that nobody properly investigated the death of Liu Qingge to come to the conclusion that it wasn’t Shen Jiu is still BEYOND ME, but our resident evil fucked up babygirl was indeed a murder suspect for very, very valid reasons even I might have bought into if I was living in PIDW.

Neither Shen Yuan nor Shen Jiu were good teachers. Shen Yuan was better than Shen Jiu because he didn’t actively abuse his disciples or encourage them to hate and bully each other, but he was and is incredibly neglectful. In his defence, he was never trained for this, but to refute that, he spent years living on Qing Jing and he never even namedrops a single disciple that isn’t Ming Fan, Ning Yingying, or Lou Binghe. He might be nice, and he certainly improved the ambiance and mental health on Qing Jing, but he is that One teacher who has one favourite and everyone else can suck it. He even moves Luo Binghe into his house, which would be incredibly inappropriate if it was literally any other kid, especially one of the girls and considering LBH isn’t even his head disciple? Apropos head disciple, Ming Fan who needs special education to one day effectively manage Qing Jing isn’t getting any of that as far as we’re aware! Not to mention that he spends three years ignoring all his duties, presumably dumping them on his coworkers and students, and then goes right back to that to elope with Binghe. Somehow still better than Shen Jiu whose self-destructive tendencies had everyone either die or probably wish they were dead, but I wouldn’t hire that guy if you paid me for it.

Bingqiu is incredibly toxic, hot take I know, we already knew that. This problem stems from both sides but honestly Binghe’s worse. He has no friends. Luo Binghe does not have a life, at least not outside of his Shizun. He lives in his own, solitary bubble that he tries to kidnap Shen Qingqiu into until Shen Yuan steps in voluntarily. And all Shen Yuan thinks about is Binghe! Bingqiu is not at all fluffy, it’s - somewhat exaggerated personal opinion incoming - a mutually obsessive snooze fest that makes me very interested in the time when Shen Yuan was dead and throw Liu Qingge in for fun just so we can have at least ONE thought that isn’t about either of them! This is honestly more of a writing problem than a fanon problem but yeah.

Shen Yuan is highly self centred and not at all selfless. Even when he does die for Binghe he knows he won’t stay dead.

Shang Qinghua isn’t a nervous busybody, he only is when he’s freaking out. He’s also not a loser and his past life was canonically handsome. He calls himself daddy, and he WOULD top in most relationships. I am a Shang Qinghua stan if you haven’t noticed, but the daddy bit is canon. The first time we see him is when he defends students and looks badass and peaklordy.

Shang Qinghua does not give a shit about anyone. He is willing to sacrifice Shen Yuan despite their mutual transmigrator status, and he was perfectly fine with causing hundreds of kids to die. He is not a nice, slightly distant, constantly nervous shifu.

Shen Jiu was never called Shizun in his life. The only person calling Shen Qingqiu Shizun used to be Luo Binghe, and the rest of the disciples followed suit to show respect to their teacher and not lose out to Binghe. Ming Fan, at the very least, used to call him shifu.

Liu Qingge isn’t a judgemental asshole and we never see him actively badmouthing Shen Jiu. Same goes for Qi Qingqi before Qingge’s death.

Ning Yingying is not hypercapable, actually. The last bit of progress we got on her was that she was confident, more grown up than when we’d seen her last, but still lacking in experience compared to her other sect siblings. She isn’t stupid, she isn’t too childish anymore, but there’s nothing suggesting that she isn’t just a normal Qing Jing disciple on her way to immortality but their one and only combat ace instead. I know, I stalk the BAMF Ning Yingying tag too.

Ming Fan isn’t ugly and stupid. He’s ordinary-looking which the animation changed to make people at least not like him so Binghe shines, and he’s the infodump NPC so he’s well-informed at least. Also he has to have some skills because how else would Qing Jing still be standing after all the neglect otherwise.

Nobody in SVSSS, except for Gongyi Xiao, is entirely morally correct. They have ALL done at least one thing wrong, and if it’s just compliance in your sect leader’s favouritism and letting a man who should have never become a teacher keep being near children without sending him to very extensive therapy first. Gongyi Xiao is the only one who has never done anything wrong, and if you’re gonna bring up the well he attacked Zhuzhi-Lang then I would like to ask what you would do if you noticed you were being stalked by an inhuman, most likely hostile creature that’s for some reason in your territory despite your entire realm being at war with their species. Because I would kill that thing like I was trained to since I was little. I would not take the risk.

Neither Bingge nor Shen Jiu are entirely at fault but they’re also both very, very guilty. Personally I think Bingge crossed the line the moment he persecuted innocent people. Also I understand why he was mad but torturing manipulated kids to death instead of beating them up really good and then throwing everything they ever did wrong in their face isn’t cool. And that’s okay. That’s what makes the story so complex and wonderful, and that’s what makes it morally intriguing, that’s the reason it’s so easy to write any of the characters as POV of your fanfiction and have another random one be a villain.
