Weird binder question: a while back you said you were working on losing weight, which I've also been doing. I've basically gone down a binder size, and while it's still working mostly well, it's getting pretty loose. I'm wondering if you have any advice on this. Do you know if it works to just break out the sewing machine and take in the binder on the sides by some unspecified amount of centimeters, or am I doomed to spending another $60 on one? As per usual I'm leaning towards just deferring to old-fashioned binder safety rules which are basically "don't make any alterations", but ughhhhh money.

Actually in that vein, if anyone has a tutorial to alter binders sides & straps properly that would be super duper cool

I would err on the side of caution and not do that. Not because it's not possible, i actually had a good friend of mine essentially tailor an Underworks tank binder of mine and it fit quite well. Problem is, it required a serger (something most at home sewists lack) and a whole bunch of trial and error since getting a binder to fit right isnt the same as getting a tshirt to fit right.

i know there are some binder materials that wouldnt require a serger, but sewing it incorrectly could run the risk of fucking up your shoulders, ribs and back.

ultimately, it's definitely possible, but the effort it would take isn't worth it in my opinion. If you need cheaper binder suggestions, tho, most Underworks binders are under $40 and they fit pretty good on bigger chests
