Obviously, it is not actually Martin, but now I can only imagine Martin and Jon getting thrown into another universe that is very similar to their own,... but about 200 years earlier and settling down, running a little tea shop. ....only to inadvertently get dragged into this worlds drama as well.

I was not tagged but this was super interesting.

Honestly this is one of the most devastating kinds of tragedy- the kind that cannot be easily avoided, the kind you dont expect. I feel like it is fitting. I do my best to make the best choices that I can, but the universe can be a cruel mistress. I have faced much hardship by way of birth and circumstances, I would not be surprised if my death was a cruel twist of fate as well.

Listen I understand why many people find Jon's paranoia thoughtless or even stupid. And I also get the people defending and justifying it (me included I'm a full time Jon defender). But in all the discussions about Jon's behaviour everyone seems to forget that no matter how irrational his actions may have seemed at the time, in the end he was literally right. One of his coworkers WAS an imposter. Someone in his close environment DID kill Gertrude. The world WAS out to get him specifically. Calm and rational reasoning be damned my man was spot on

Low-key thinking about writing a fic about Melanie not being satisfied with the Sasha situation early on- obsessively looking for the girl she met that the archives team seems to have forgotten

THE FOLLOWING IS ALL JUST ROUGH IDEAS

Perhaps the Not-Them actually does keep their victims for a time,... feeding off their fear of being replaced- of being *replacable*

Watching all of their friends move on without them and not even noticing that they are gone and something else has taken their place

Just

Melanie putting her investigative ghost hunting skills to the test to find her- broken down and scared, but very much alive.

They become friends as Sasha recovers & when Melanie is shot with the ghost bullet Sasha notices the change in her & starts researching what could have caused it

Melanie still gets tricked into joining the archives during Jon's hyper paranoia period- but with Sasha around maybe they are able to figure out more about what is really going on and they manage to keep Jonah from enacting his grand plan
