Starting off with a reference to the redrawn graphic novel panel of The Mimic and the ambulance behind him, hinting at David’s death.

Every time there’s David related content, albeit animation or analysis. I’d always get sad bcus that kid does not deserve anything that happened to him but I guess that’s bad luck… (it also doesn’t help with the fact that you can hear the ambulance siren in the song too)

Mimic being alive and happy to serve Edwin !!!! (not for loooooong)

I like that they make Mimic try to do his function. My only gripe is why he doesn’t have legs yet? I’m assuming it’s just a reference to the book version, ig.

Another sad thing is there’s only Edwin and Mimic in the factory; Mimic can’t experience that busy work days when the employees were still around or what it’s like to have a family..

What I like about this is the Murrays are haunting the narrative…

Since this animation is Mimic’s POV, it makes sense for the Murrays to not appear at all; Fiona and David died before Mimic even existed.

But the 3 remaining Murrays, however, is for a different reason.

For Edwin, he was his creator (and abuser)

They can’t be on the same level and relate to each other for that reason, including that Edwin doesn’t see Mimic as a person

And Mimic doesn’t see Edwin’s side of the story bcus he, well, was abused by him, he doesn’t want to understand.

(Despite they have something in common)

For Tiger, he is a supernatural entity that teleports wherever he goes. To Mimic, Tiger is this untouchable thing, thus he doesn’t want to understand him

(Why would he want to connect with a weird ass creature, anyway?)

For F10N4 or M1, all she could think about David and bringing him back; Mimic could care less about David bcus he never knew him and despite M1 cares for Mimic, she only cared about what he could’ve been and that, is the exact opposite of Mimic wants.

What he wants is to be himself.

(Even if all he does is kill intruders and walking around in a empty factory)

If M1 only cared about a dead kid, then Mimic doesn’t care about her side of the story at all.

Which is why it makes it ten times more interesting for the Murrays be haunting the narrative.
