One person can separate fiction from reality, doesn’t harm anyone in real life, thinks harassment and censorship are bad. The other scams a real person, who’s trying to support an artist, and then brags about their literal crime online.
But antis will tell you they’re the good and normal ones 😍

My toxic trait is that if I find a product I like I want to keep using the same product forever. It's not even brand loyalty. It's called stop changing and discontinuing everything.
TL;DR: A long ass essay about how minors policing adult fandoms and trying to make them child-friendly is weird and doesn't make sense. Inspired ofc by the Valko/LADS situation but brings up multiple other fandoms/hobbies (TWD, figure collecting, etc.) as examples.
Okay so honest question that I've had as this whole Valko/LADS situation has unfolded: why are minors entering adult fandoms and getting offended by adult content?
I can admit that I have been consuming 18+ media and content from a young age. Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, if it had gore and boobs, I was probably there for better or worse. For me, the appeal of those shows (beyond just having actual enjoyment ofc), was twofold:
I got to feel like an adult watching adult shows, playing adult games, etc. Mind you, I still enjoyed more age-appropriate media as well (ily Steven Universe and Gravity Falls). But being able to brag about my parents letting me watch Walking Dead made me feel like a cool kid who was more mature than everybody.
It let me explore more adult ideas/themes without actually putting me in any danger. I got to learn more about things like sexuality, politics, ethics, etc. without actually putting myself in inappropriate irl situations. While child/teen media does sometimes touch upon these topics, they don't quite delve into them with the same depth.
So, I actually do understand the appeal of consuming adult media as a minor! Or at least, I thought I did. Until I noticed a trend of minors claiming to be fans of adult media but then complaining when either the fandom creates fan content that is NSFW or the media itself does.
The most recent example can be seen with Valko in regard to antis being uncomfortable with just how muscular/adult/masculine/etc. he appears but there are countless other examples. The dumbest? Interestingly enough, Super Sonico.
If you go into the TikTok comment section of any video about Super Sonico, whether it be showing off a collection or actually discussing the character, you almost always see a comment from a teenage girl along the lines of "I love Sonico, I hate how ppl sexualize her :("
That would be understandable, if not for the fact the character is an anime pin-up girl. All of her figures range from suggestive to borderline pornographic. You are MEANT to sexualize her as she is inherently sexual as intended by her creators. Such a statement is equivalent to claiming to love books but hate reading. It just inherently makes no sense. Just to give you an idea, this is probably as tame as it gets for a Sonico figure:
Erm, looks pretty intentionally sexualized to me. Which isn't an inherently bad thing btw! The problem is: many minors seem to think it is inherently bad.
We see this same phenomenon of sex and other adult themes being demonized by minors across fandoms, despite these themes being present in the media they claim to be fans of. While LADS doesn't have literal sex, it is heavily implied throughout it. Yet, you'll see antis and other LADS "fans" alike complaining about adult fan content being made.
This is what has caused my confusion: why are these minors wanting to participate in adult media if they have no interest in the "adult" part? I understand not being at the stage where you want to explore adult themes, we all develop at our own pace. But why join adult spaces just to be offended by the adult things that happen within them? Why not stay within fandoms that are age-appropriate then?
I'd be interested to hear theories about this phenomenon we're experiencing as, despite my long post, I don't quite have an answer yet. I will be keeping a close eye on how this discourse continues to develop as I am interested to see what explanations come about.

Cool Ways to Show a Character Is Traumatized (Without Saying "Traumatized"):
• They memorize where every exit is in a room
• They check their phone repeatedly after sending a message, worried they said the wrong thing
• They freeze when asked a simple question, like they’re calculating the safest answer
• They over-explain tiny mistakes before anyone reacts
• They clean up messes that aren’t theirs without being asked
• They listen for footsteps in hallways before relaxing
• They downplay their own pain with humor or sarcasm
• They check locks more than once before bed
• They leave shoes near the door, ready to leave quickly
• They wake up instantly at small sounds while others sleep through them
• They carry painkillers, snacks, or water everywhere “just in case.”
• They don’t like closed doors.
• They test people subtly to see if they'll leave
• They sit near walls or corners, rarely the center of a room.
• Loud noises don’t scare them anymore, they just go very still
• They apologize automatically, even when nothing went wrong
• Compliments make them visibly uncomfortable.
• They keep important things within arm’s reach at all times
• They watch people’s hands more than their faces
• They flinch at movements that aren’t threatening
• When someone raises their voice, they go quiet instead of arguing back
• They assume blame first, even when it makes no sense
• They’re surprised when someone keeps their promise
• They brace themselves before asking a favor
