Contains: drunk!Ironhide x prissy-fem!reader, suggestive, Optimus pining implied (gasp!)
Ironhide, usually so stern, sitting before you inebriated and slightly relaxed from the aged gasoline. Though, his domineering presence hasn’t changed; he still watches you with a certain aptness. It’s almost suffocating.
And with the gasoline, his inhibitions are nulled.
You perch across from him on the top of a little truck left to rot in the yard, watching in moderate shock as he lowers a digit beneath your chin, lifting it. Your small hands grasp to the metal plating, face angled uncomfortably upward toward this creature who has given you nothing but grief since Optimus Prime assigned him as your Guardian.
As to be expected, you fuss at his touch.
“It’s odd how much you and your kind resemble Cybertronian females…” Ironhide gruffs quietly, more to himself than you. “Personalities are much the same, too.”
There is a facet of Ironhide (a very deep, very shameful facet) that ponders how far those similarities reach. Your beauty is best left untouched by him. But he thinks, and he thinks. Soft, supple skin; breasts that can be molded and manipulated; thread-like substance from your scalp (hair, he’s been told it’s called) that often brushes his facial plate when he lifts you to a shoulder; varying colors to the plushest parts of your body.
The differences in his kind and yours are nearly erotic to him.
He pitches the curve of his digit up, as if in a gentle chin-check, swiping his opposable thumb across your cheek. “I see why Prime was fond of you.”
Do you think fucking normal cars/vehicles is like bestiality to transformers? 🤔 Or is it more like using a sex doll? Assuming that fucking when in their alt modes is seen as normal that is, because otherwise I imagine fucking a normal ass car would be like, super perverted to them
Do you think an autobot (in my head I pictured Ironhide for some reason) ever got the hots, just extremely pent up, and found the best looking vehicle they could and just went to town with it only to be caught with their (metaphorical) pants down by other members of their team as they were about to overload, and they just cum down the exhaust pipe of this very pretty but otherwise regular car to the horrified faces of "mech wtf that's so fucked up" of their teammates
(I'm trying to think who would be the best to appear in that moment, Ratchet? Too worried about the health hazards of the situation more than the action itself, I bet he's had to deal with worse or at least equal stuff as a medic. Bumblebee? Personally I don't like to traumatize him more than the canon already does. OP? He would feel horrible and so uncomfortable about it internally but externally he would just be like ok, well never speak of this ever and leave. Prowl? I think he would be scandalised and concerned enough to make it a whole deal and maybe even bring it up to Optimus Prime, and wouldn't THAT be mortifying. Ok I'm running out of ideas bye)
“This is ridiculous!” Megatron roared, slamming his fist against the side of the hanger, the entire structure shuddering.
Kira rolled her eyes, slipping her gun into its holster and slipping on her jacket. “I’ve told you a dozen times, we are bringing some back for you and Barricade.”
“How can I trust you? You’re already planning my death, whether it’s with this other variant or after. Letting us waste away because of low energon sounds like something you would do.” The Warlord was clearly over momentary lapse in character.
After the emotions had washed away and Kira had had some time to sit and think about it, those couple of moments had just been a bout of sympathy at his words. When she remembered all he had taken from her, all her friends lost, her own life lost at the hands of Megatron, she lost all that hope for him. She mourned that he had suffered but she would not endanger her Autobots because she felt bad.
Megatron would absolutely have done the same thing.
With the date and location chosen for the battle all that was needed was preparations, like restocking the energon stores because Kira had not realized how much of it had been converted into high grade or snacks and they did not have enough for everyone to be completely fueled and weapons fully powered. Hence why some of the Bots were preparing for another mine raid, and to do so they needed to use the Ground Bridge located at Omega Outpost One. The base Megatron was not allowed to know the location of, let alone step foot in.
For the two days leading up to the battle scheduled for three days’ time Kira had avoiding Megatron. Until he heard about the planned mining trip and had come storming into the hanger, demanding to speak to Kira and accusing her of excluding him from the plans as a murder attempt.
This guilt tripping was just manipulation, so much closer to the Megatron she had known for years than whoever he had been in that dark hanger two nights ago. It was almost a relief to be threatened by him, solidifying her resolve that he was a bad person and using him was just part of the game. He would have used her if the roles were reversed.
“You refuse to permit me to join you,” Megatron seethed, knowing full well it had been the Optimus of this world who had refused to allow the Warlord into his base. He tried to take a step closer, to finally enter the hanger instead of seething outside it, but the wall of bodyguards composing of Optimus, Ironhide and Hound, did not let him into the hanger. “How can I know you will bring us back energon?”
More manipulation, more guilt, more same old Megatron.
“We will and you know why?” Finally turning, facing Megatron for the first time in days, Kira looked Megatron in the optics and instead of the guilt she feared she would feel, all she felt was the burning desire to punch him in the faceplates. “Because we aren’t you.”
Having his fully fueled and armed to the max was for their benefit alone, and Kira no longer felt ashamed to admit that. And so of course she would ensure both he and Barricade had enough energon. They were only useful if they were stocked up.
An hour later the air roared with the thunder of Megatron’s engine as he soared through the air. After more arguments and a temper tantrum it was decided he’d fly and meet the Autobots at the mine located in Peru.
“Just so we’re clear,” Sideswipe started, leaning against the hanger door as Kira squinted into the sunlight, Megatron’s form disappearing south, “we weren’t going to get Energon for him and Barricade.”
“Yes we were.” Optimus replied, gaze following Megatron just as Kira’s did.
Everyone was back to their old selves, Optimus included. He was present in every debrief, handled every dispute between the Autobots, sat for hours with his lieutenants as they discussed battle plans and never let Kira out of his sight.
Whatever Kira had said that night after he’d pulled her from the hanger, whatever she hadn’t said but he had heard, it was as though he’d realized how far from themselves everyone had strayed. And just as Megatron was back to being a narcissistic afthole, Optimus was back as that shining example of a damn near perfect leader.
Kira was so happy she hardly stopped smiling, even through an argument with Megatron she was only able to have because she’d convinced Optimus to let the Decepticon speak to her, not because she was the only one he could find to complain to.
---
Optimus shifted on his peds, uneasy, restless.
There had been so much going on in the last two weeks, so many ups and downs. What he needed was a week alone to process all the emotions raging around inside him.
First he meets a human in the middle of the desert and she knows him but not him him. He then feels a sense of kinship with her, seeing how she acts around his kind and begins to admire the small organic. Then he learns his variant, whom Kira is deeply loyal to, hasn’t been treating her the way she deserves and right as he begins to devise a plan to rescue her she almost kills herself ingesting energon. Then she heads off to a secondary base with these savage Autobots who would sooner kill than talk and humans who could be ready to torture her for information she has and he spends days wondering if she is still alive and if he should stage a rescue only for her to plea helplessness and then use him to get into contact with Megatron. And then he receives a list of locations from the human detailing ancient Cybertronian relics that could wreck untold damage on the planet with a nice little side note asking him to take care of it for her. Granted many of the locations did house the dangerous relics that were now secured within the vault and out of Decepticon hands, but Optimus hadn’t even known half of those devices had existed let alone that they had been stored on this planet.
On top of all that, he’d met her doppelganger of this world and had made an absolute fool of himself and was still working through the fact that he had fallen helm over slagging peds for her in the few moments she had looked in his general direction. He had been avoiding the town and the children alike.
And now the first Kira he’d met, and he was still trying to understand is feeling for her doppelganger, was back in his base ready to go out on a mining raid and Optimus was trying very hard to forget about what had happened last time her team had been involved in one of those.
He needed more than a week. He needed a month, alone, somewhere where he could drive for hours and admire the beauty of the planet without all these problems weighing him down. He was beginning to understand why the other Optimus had been so aloof, Kira taking charge while he’d lingered on the sidelines. If Optimus had anybot he knew was capable of handling all this mess so he could so much as recharge in peace he would hand over command without a moment’s hesitation.
“So,” Jack started, moving over stand beside Kira as she oversaw her Bots reviewing the map of the mine they were going for in Peru. “How are things going?”
“Megatron threatened to turn me into goo and destroyed the guard house. Grimlock tried to eat a Humvee and choked and when Scorn tried to help him, Grim ended up blasting him in the face with fire. Ratchet sedated both of them but miscalculated the dose and it’s been two days and they are both still asleep. Wheeljack set another hanger on fire so we’re now down to four. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker managed to convince Mirage, Evac and Bumblebee to join them in a street race, to which Barricade showed up pretending to be the cops and chased a human driver for hours. Arcee and Chromia have started a union to petition the installation of a working projector after Crosshairs took the last one apart to make it “better” and ended up breaking it. They want to finish Bridgerton but now others have started their own union because they want a gaming system. Topspin discovered K-Pop and now he and Jazz fight over who can play music louder. And the Knights witnessed the human soldiers training and are now watching dvds on Taekwondo.”
Finished counting off the events on her fingers as she recited them, Kira turned to Jack and smiled brightly, happy. Like genuinely happy, undeterred at all that that sounded exactly like a base completely out of control. “Things are going great.” How are you doing?”
It was Jack’s turn to catch her up, moving to lean against the railing as she had done, both knowing they were close enough to Optimus logging final reports about the latest relic retrieval while he waited for Kira’s team to be ready to head out to hear their entire conversation.
“Well Ratchet is mad, and I mean more than usual he’s absolutely pissed about something but won’t talk to anyone. Bumblebee thinks one of the relics might help get his voicebox back so he’s always ready for the next mission. Arcee is mad at my mom because we’re going to her parents in Kansas for Thanksgiving. Miko got a month’s detention so Bulkhead is bummed. And Optimus is…”
Both humans turned, glancing over their shoulders to the giant mech in question. He didn’t even try to avert his optics in time to cover up that he had been watching them as they talked.
“You did something to upset him so every time someone brings you up he storms out of the room. And he thinks we don’t notice but he’s avoiding Jasper because he’s down bad but also confused about your doppelganger. It’s obvious he has feelings for her but he won’t outright bring her to the base so not going there seems to be his plan.”
Kira hummed, Jack having said all this while keeping direct eye contact with Optimus and Kira watching how the Prime reacted. Optimus often forgot humans were a predator species, and intimidation was one of their go to methods while on a hunt. And he certainly did feel like prey.
Though he’d kept his face plates neutral, his denta had obviously clenched.
“He should go for it. Many of the bots had relationships with humans back on our world.”
Optimus felt his engine surge, the sound loud enough for everyone in the base to stop their conversations and turn to him with questioning glances.
It was possible? How? Not only would it endanger the poor human, the delicate being exposed to the dangers of Decepticons, but the difference in size and matter alone should have been more than enough to hinder any form of relationship beyond conversations and the occasional one-sided cradling.
“Really?” Jack asked when the dull murmur of conversation picked up again, looking to Kira as she led the way to the desk and pulled out a chair for him as she moved to rest against the table.
“Holoforms were designed to help them blend in, experience the world the way us humans do. Dating, or in most cases a one-night stand, is all part of the human experience.”
Optimus had no idea what a ‘one night stand’ was.
“I guess.”
Holy scrap, it was possible. Holoforms! Optimus had completely forgotten about the technology but before she’d left here he’d been so amazed at how well the Autobots would interact with Kira through the use of holoforms. How they could be on her level, help her after her trip to the Realm of the Primes, interact with everyday items the humans used and interact with the humans as if they were ones.
It was possible, if he chose to install the technology, to appear to this Kira as a human. But he couldn’t. Not only would that be him deceiving her by appearing as something he was not, it was dangerous. He would be taking her hand and leading her into a world of danger in which Decepticons hunted Autobots and their human allies alike. He had sworn an oath to protect all beings of this planet against the brutality of the Decepticons. The children were here for their safety, not companionship. He could not, would not, force her into the same fate.
He would not endanger her for his own gain of a... a friend.
“Can I ask you something?”
Kira hummed again in agreement, lifting a bottle to her lips. Optimus’ spark jumped when he saw the blue liquid before he noticed the label around the bottle. It was merely a human drink dyed a similar shade of Energon.
Miko had bought them over a couple days ago as an attempt to prank the bots. Ratchet had not found it amusing and had sent the bottle flying across the room where it hit the wall so hard the plastic shattered. He thought Jack had hidden the rest away but apparently he’d merely stored them out of the Bot’s line of sight.
He would have been able to find them if he’d had a holoform, a little voice in the back of his processor spoke. Optimus wondered if anyone would find him strange if he whacked the back of his own helm to try dislodge the thought.
“Did you enjoy your time as a liaison?”
Both Optimus and Kira froze, Optimus realizing now as a good time to pretend to be busy so Jack felt a little more confident speaking to the human. Clearly he was not ready to speak to Optimus about this or he would not have been attempting to whisper.
“It had it’s ups and downs over the years.”
“Yeah, like having to evade the human government after they blame the Autobots for Decepticon crimes.” Jack spat the words, angry on behalf of Kira and her team.
Kira shrugged. “You’d do the same.” And neither she nor Optimus needed the boy to confirm it with words to know he would. “It was a lot of people pleasing. Everyone had questions, the bots have certain needs, you can only do so much and say so much before compromises need to be made. Not everyone got their way and often times they got angry about it.”
“But you had Optimus, right?” The uncertainty in his voice had both Kira and Optimus realizing this was a little more than just a curiosity question, the human turning her full attention to him where she had been watching the two Bumblebee’s comparing something on a datapad. “He helped you in the first few days? You didn’t feel like you had the weight of two worlds on your shoulders.”
How could she not have? She was basically keeping the Autobots together, the only beings capable of defending Earth from the Decepticons. She did have the fate of two worlds and billions of lives depending on her.
Kira waited a moment for him to say more but when he didn’t, Optimus noticing the tightness in his expression, the thoughts so heavy they forced his brows to furrow, Kira shifted closer to him. “What’s this about?” she asked gently.
The teen sighed and just when Optimus thought he’d brush her off as he always did Arcee when he got like this, he began to speak. “Fowler spoke to me about joining the army once I graduate high school and going to join the task force and become his assistant so that when he retires it won’t be an unfamiliar face as the new liaison.”
It was turn to be quiet a moment, eyes jumping around Jack’s face as he continued to glare down at the catwalk floor beneath him. What was she looking for? Optimus could see why Jack had not come to him with this, he had no idea what to say. He hadn’t even known Fowler had spoken to Jack about this.
“That’s a lot to ask of a sixteen-year-old.” Kira started, looking back towards her team. “What do you think about it?”
“You died because of it.”
That was a valid reason for fearing the job.
Kira huffed a laugh. “I believe I might be an exception.”
“Fowler got kidnapped and tortured by Starscream. And you two are the only Autobot liaisons I know.”
Kira snapped her attention to Jack. “Seriously?”
Optimus could understand the shock, Fowler did seem more of a words and threats kind of person than actions. But Optimus had also seen the human rise to the challenge when it was required of him.
When Jack remained silent, his brows still furrowed and hands interlocked as he rest his elbows on his knees, Kira leaned over and nudged her shoulder against his own. “You’d be good at it.”
That got the young human to perk up, his eyes jumping to Kira and a smile breaking through the frown. “You think?”
Kira nodded, smiling right back. “Hell yeah. You’ve got a good head on ya, seem responsible, and Ratchet likes you. You don’t need much else. Optimus and Fowler definitely won’t drop you in the deep in and hanging around the bots like you have for months will give you a lot of experience. Besides, if you do happen to get the Matrix you’ll end up a Prime. Then they’ll have to listen to you.”
That earned a snort from both Optimus and Jack, though Jack’s was done in amusement while Optimus was imagining Ratchet’s reaction to being told he now had to obey the orders of a human.
“Kira,” her Optimus called, “you ready?”
“Yeah.” she called. That was their cue. Standing, she didn’t move far before turning back to Jack. “I’m serious, you’d make a really good liaison. Boot camp will be a bitch but it’ll be worth it. You’ll never regret it, and I haven’t known you long but I do know you’d be perfect for it. I’d chose you as my trainee if I could. I know Optimus would too.”
Kira was right. Should the human boy have shown interest Optimus would have absolutely done what he could to help Jack achieve his dream, but the uncertainty on his face even as he glowed from the praise told the Prime Jack was still unsure. He was definitely going to have a discussion with Fowler about placing so much pressure on the young male, but Kira was right.
Optimus made a mental note to have a talk with Jack once all this was over and these strangers were back in their own world. For now, he needed to survive another mine seizure operation.

Quick pop quiz, Definitely not holding you at gunpoint!
If you had to pick what are your top 3 favourite transformers, And why?
*clocks gun*
I'll make the list, but just know the order and sometimes occupants change every other month.
1. Prowl
2. Octane
3. Thundercracker
All of them not for what the narrative does for them, but for what it ALMOST does. My top three potential mechs. There's so much thread to work with.
Prowl is so interesting for what he represents in the IDW comics. The moral ambiguity that kept the Autobots alive, how they all hate him for his pragmatism (and net 0 charisma), how he's regarded as the worst. At times treated as more evil than literal Megatron by the narrative.
I also like his Marvel version, straddling the line between his happy G1 cartoon self and what he would later become in the comics.
TFA Prowl also has tons of potential. I have so many stories written for him in my head/explanations for his telekinesis/history that he's practically become an OC.
Octane is just fun and different from other Cons. My Sandstorm/Octane fic pretty much goes through all my favorite things about what he could be. Octane got 2 G1 episodes and has been my favorite Con ever since.
Thundercracker imo has been fumbled in every continuity, and yes I include IDW in that. But the lead up to the fumble is so interesting. Like, in IDW they totally flanderized him into nothing more than comedic relief. BUT what if they didn't? In Skybound, they are speedrunning him becoming part of Superion. BUT what if they didn't? In G1, they were planning to develop his dissatisfaction with the Decepticons and backed out. BUT what if they didn't?
Tbh my favorites heavily rely on characterization and the possibilities that arise from it.
