sorry 4 being angry but i'm thinking about how when covid shut down the american economy for 9 months, americans didn't receive regular monetary aid from the government after most of them became financially stunted, we didn't receive a temporary base livable wage payment, we didn't receive a temporary base minimum wage payment, we didn't receive further unemployment benefits, we didn't receive breaks from having to pay rent, we didn't receive breaks from being evicted on the basis of not having enough money, we didn't receive universal healthcare, we didn't receive universal healthcare for covid-related illnesses, we didn't get any coverage for being in the middle of a pandemic. instead, we got absolute chump change that we had to fight tooth-and-nail over, and when we were just given the opportunity to get a slight bit more change, the people in charge said "nah here's some pocket lint instead lol". why would any person in america be proud to live here
