Um. What do the last three additions have to do with the original post? Am I misreading something? It sounds like OP and the first addition essentially said "it's good to have aroace rep and you don't have to write out of character fanfiction that disrepects that rep to write interesting relationships" (good, true) and then someone came in three years later to... talk about people too committed to their headcanons? Is the implication that this post is puritan for taking issue with a trend of aphobia and people devaluing non-romantic and non-sexual relationships in fandom? Is that what's made its way to my dashboard? Or am I misunderstanding?

it’s simple: when I like an adaptation, everyone complaining about changes to the text is a whiny baby who needs to get over themselves and accept that sometimes you have to change the story to enrich the experience/work within the medium. when I don’t like an adaptation, it’s because nobody else understands the core themes of the original work and would be better off just creating a story independent of what they’re trying to adapt.
