That one was definitely one of my darker MMX fics, and fun to write even if I was wincing throughout. (For those of you that haven't read it, this doesn't have a happy ending, you have been warned.)

7: Where did the title come from?

So Haustorium takes place in an AU of an AU that I called Svarga - and basically a bad-end version of that AU. Most of the fics in the series tend to be named after plants. A "haustorium" is basically a root-like structure from a parasitic plant/fungus that attaches itself to the host plant and draws nutrients from it, and in several cases the host plant is fully under the control of the parasite, which... isn't dissimilar to what happened in this fic.

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

Ooh, this is a hard one, I might be fluffing my own ego but I feel like I had a lot of banger lines in this one. If I was being fully honest and thinking very dirty, it would have to be Niles's line.

“So, would the three of you be considered less Dragonslayers and more Dragonf-”

Because let's face it, this is exactly something that Niles would say in this kind of situation. There is also the set of lines where Anankos got offended when Laslow pointed out having tea with the 'sane, handsome' fragment of Anankos.

“ARE YOU SAYING I AM NO LONGER HANDSOME?”
