I had a friend call me when we lived in the same building to ask for first aid supplies. I was at least a half hour walk away from home, no bus, no money, shitty crippled legs (tho this was a good few years ago, so notably less so than now)
I got my ass through that half an hour walk in fifteen minutes in order to deliver her my first aid supplies and to calm a friend of hers that I had never met before thru a panic attack.
If you call me, I will come.
Almost a year ago, I was having a bad night. Things were going very wrong in my head in almost every possible way. I couldn't think what to do, or who to call (if I should call anyone at all) and I was spiralling.
With the grace of OSDD1, someone not me put in a call to a friend. We were relatively new friends, but I knew he could drive and they would be able to get to me, which no one else would be able to.
Not only did he come straight over, despite having had a full day, they stayed in my flat, in my bedroom with me till nearly 3 in the morning (I offered to let him spend the rest of the night and get some kip but they wanted to go home), telling me stories, watching silly things with me and not asking about things I wasn't ready to talk about.
It is human nature to form communities. To both give and receive help and care and love amongst ourselves. Please don't deny yourself that just because some people have it in their heads that everything must be done alone.
