So far:

Manager carefully wrote down spelling and pronunciation of my pronouns and told everyone on the team to respect them.

Coworker apologized privately for misgendering me (I hadn't told her yet) and said she will practice.

Guy on another team valiantly tried to use my pronouns and ended up saying something like zirzs-zhizz (I DM'd him and thanked him for trying and linked him to a practice site).

Teammate told me he has written out my pronouns and how to use them in a sentence and literally taped it to his monitor so he can practice.

Teammate also referred to me as compañere after I linked to a comic about gender-neutral endings in Spanish (whole team except me + 1 other person speaks Spanish as first language and they held all meetings in Spanish before the two of us started).

I've had to come out to my team a couple times because of new hires and whatnot but every time it has gone well. People aren't perfect but they try and they correct themselves. I usually just get nods of understanding and a couple of times people have asked me questions to understand better.

When one of my employees misgendered me despite me directly correcting her and I documented it, the site director texted me at MIDNIGHT to apologize and assure me that he and HR would handle it. The operations manager sent me a similar email the next morning.

later at my onboarding, a younger coworker surprised me by asking for my pronouns (i hadn't yet considered whether i wanted to be out at work) and i automatically replied they/them. my new boss, standing next to me, went "oh excellent! my youngest is nonbinary, i got this."

This parenting team - consisting of two males and a female - has successfully raised broods together for years. The two males even lost their original female partner and found another. Full article here.

BUT before he can say this, when Mario arrives he goes "BOWSER YOU CANNOT DATE-A MY BROTHER!" bc his pure himbo energy just decided that CLEARLY Bowser has kidnapped Luigi for the same reasons he kidnaps Peach. Obviously.

AND before Bowser can correct him, LUIGI yells "AND-A WHY NOT?!! YOU CANNOT TELL-A ME WHO I'M ALLOWED TO DATE!!"

Cue Mario and Luigi vehemently arguing amongst each other about this, while Bowser stands there very confused in the background. ("I'm allowed to make-a my own decisions!" "It's-a BOWSER you can do so much-a better!!" "I'M STANDING RIGHT HERE")

Luigi wasn't even planning on deciding to accept Bowser's proposal (both brothers have a single braincell and they think 'Bowser kidnaps you = he wants to marry you', neither even think that there could be a secondary reason, lol) BUT he's a little brother and the SECOND Mario says he can't do something he has to. It's the little brother energy in him.

Bowser at this point doesn't even know how to correct them without it coming off awkward for EVERYONE involved. He TRIES but when he says that's not it, Mario is like "Bowser, you-a KIDNAPPED him" and that's kind of hard to argue the semantics. Especially now that Peach has arrived and is congratulating him for moving on??? (WHEN DID SHE ARRIVE AND WHY?!)

Bowser isn't sure how it happened but he's pretty sure he's dating Luigi now and he doesn't know where to go from this. He goes back to his castle and tries to talk about it to Kamek to get some advice on how to fix this situation, but all KAMEK says is "You DID kidnap him, sire."

They wind up getting married.

look. there’s no such thing as perfect altruism. you’ll always get something out of helping or being kind to others, whether it’s a stronger relationship or returned kindness or just the feeling of having done good. there’s nothing inherently bad about getting something from doing good either, especially since it’s completely unavoidable. people being rewarded for putting love into the world doesn’t make the world a worse place. so just do as much good as you can and don’t worry about being “selfless” while doing it, because being truly selfless is in fact impossible.
