^ One of the funniest pages in the series. I could’ve almost bust my gut laughing at this. From Sonic’s “Let’s not ask for miracles here” regarding convincing Julie-Su that she looks good in a dress to shoving Amy out to torment him and their joking about it. Hit the nail on the head for awesome comedy and it’s character-driven too.

^ I’ll cite the speech pior to this to show just how awesome this fight was;

“Impressive resume, Doc. You missed a couple of key points, though. Like how a group of kids with no real training took back that city. And you croaked, more or less. And about that empire of yours… you know about all the places you don’t control, right? The United Federation alone has at least a half-dozen city-states in it! And then there’s all the Freedom Fighter groups fighting you all over the world every day. And you aren’t too popular in the regions that you DO outright control. You can’t really claim to “control” the planet when you’re fighting for it your every waking hour! Sure, you beat me fair and square not long ago. I’ll give you props for that. But how many badniks have I stomped? How many times have I sent you packing? I’ve beaten you before, Eggman. A lot. And I’ll do it again.“

Awesomeness. Plain and simple. It’s an incredibly satisfying speech because not only is it all true but it’s payback for the speech Eggman used to try and break him in Issue #175.

^ A choice scene from issue #120. Which contains one of my fave stories of the entire comic’s run “The Royal Signet”. Very touching and real and one of the all too few examples of emotion used correctly. Notable for utilizing Queen Alicia fantastically.

^ Issue #18′s second story “In the Still of the Night” was, like “The Royal Signet”, a beautiful story.

^ From #276. This whole speech Sonic gives in that cell. I expected nothing less out of him given the streak Flynn’s had recently in nailing that part of Sonic’s character - His benevolent ability to reassure his friends when they’re down in the dumps over something. It was prevalent in the Fighters arc when he tried to instill confidence in Tails after Honey beat him in the ring.Just brilliant.

^ You go Sal! Loathesome bitch Fiona gets her dues after she attempts to manipulate Tails into siding with her. This was very cathartic.

This has one of my favoritesonsall moments is in Iron Dominion, Sally is not being overly melodramatic and Sonic isnt being an ice cold jerk, Sonic is telling Sally just how it is and just what she needs to hear before she is going to wallow-in-self-pitty again, she is taken charge and calming down thanks to Sonic. It shows how these two know each other and how close their relationship is and that honestly is better then just letting someone give up that easy. 

Right after Sonic defeats Eggman (right before the Iron Dominion arc) Sonic shows sympathy towards his greatest enemy, Yes Eggman has done so many horrible things to Sonic in the past and Sonic doesnt like the guy one bit but he even shows sorrow when Eggman has lost it. It shows how big Sonic’s heart is. Bonus for his biggest fans showing how much they love him and for Amy showing some gentle concern.

Everything about ‘SPARKLE OF LIFE’’ from the friendship scenes of Sally and Nicole (and of young Sally missing her father and meeting Nicole.) from Nicole’s personal struggle and her fight with page to this above scene showing how smart Big the Cat can be and it was very nice to see satam characters interacting with the game characters more.

Sonic comforting Tails after he lost in the Champions Arc, a great improvement since older Archie stories really messed up on Sonic/Tails friendships. It really shows their unbreakable brotherly bond. 

This scene when Cove is aware that her sister won’t be getting any better, its just heart breaking and gutwrencing to watch. her expression on panel 3 days it all.

Just the Thunderbolt scenes, giving Eggman his own personal fangirl to be the opposite of Amy Rose, was a pretty nice idea, Thunderbolt is hilarious whenever she appears.

What a bunch of weebs RIP to Bruce's Yacht tho it did not make it home

I hear a melody

And just as suddenly

It lasted exactly 12 hours before Dick sent a meme.

Now it's just chaos, but Bruce never leaves because secretly it's how he keeps tabs on everyone.

Every few weeks he'll respond to 74 messages of nonsense with a single "Focus." and everyone behaves for approximately 5 minutes.

The real mission communications happen in individual texts directly to Bruce, who feels a tiny spark of relief each time his phone pings with "OFFICIAL MISSION CHAT (217 unread messages)" because it means they're all still alive enough to be annoying.

Occasionally in the middle of arguments about cereal rankings and who stole whose equipment, Bruce will just type "Status?" and everyone immediately responds with their location and condition. No one ever comments on this ritual, but everyone participates without fail.

Even Jason, who once replied "bleeding out in an alley but the cereal argument is worth it" which resulted in five vigilantes converging on his location in under three minutes.

Damian, mildly annoyed at Bruce at the moment: It's quite simple. Batmam steals young children from their bed, usually nine or ten or so. Then he takes you to his lair and give you a deal.

Damian: If you can beat him in a game of your choosing, he will train you to be Robin. If you lose, you are eaten. I beat him in a classic fencing game. He's quite good with swords, but he wasn't very good with the sport itself.

Tim, standing next to him: Yeah, I beat him at a memory card game. I like totally cheated, but I'm too old for him to eat now, so ot doesn't matter.

Damian, nodding: Yes. The worst part of the job is disposing of failed Robins bones. He usually sucks them clean and leaves them all over the floor.

Tim: Yeah, its messy. But after you hit, like 15 he stops trying to eat you, so that's cool.

Damian: I have not yet reached 15. I'm still in danger. If you have more questions, ask Nightwing, as he was the first to avoid being eaten.

Same interviewer, at a different date: Mr. Nightwing. Is it true Batman tries to eat potential Robins?

okay so. picture this:

the batcave has one couch. it's in the corner. it’s hideous. it’s like beige or green or something equally offensive to every one of their aesthetics. no one likes the couch.

and that is exactly why it became sacred.

because one night jason just. drops onto it. full gear. bleeding. absolutely done with life. says nothing. doesn’t even take off the helmet. sits there in silence for 3 hours and then leaves.

next week tim uses it. sits there post-mission. face in hands. someone tries to ask if he’s okay and jason throws a batarang at them.

and thus it began.

Rules of the Do Not Talk To Me Couch:

You sit there? No one speaks to you.

You cry? No you didn’t.

You eat cold noodles off your chest at 4 a.m.? That’s sacred time.

If someone tries to comfort you? They are excommunicated for 12 hours.

Dick (sitting on the couch):

Damian: Grayson, are you—

Jason (from across the cave): HE’S ON THE COUCH.

Jason: I don’t make the rules.

Steph: You LITERALLY made the rules.

Jason: And I am the defender of the rules. There’s a difference.

one time damian storms in. covered in blood. absolutely furious. 10/10 rage goblin energy. throws his sword. marches to the couch. sits. arms crossed. steaming.

tim takes one look at him and goes: “i’m making tea.”

jason: “that’s acceptable. tea is allowed. talking is not.”

and the ENTIRE CAVE goes silent.

tim literally freezes mid-typing. cass stops mid-flip. jason just mutters “oh shit.”

they all leave. immediately.

the couch is not ready for bruce.
