It’s probably a really cool and good sign that this post I made in 2014 is going around again, right?

my approach to transness is just "you can do whatever you want forever" like genuinely who gives a fuck if you don't go on HRT or don't care about passing or don't use common pronouns or whatever the fuck. like at their core every anti-trans argument is about denying bodily autonomy and forcing adherence to cishet perisex norms, so all of these constant, cyclical arguments about how "[xyz group of nonnormative trans people] makes all of us look bad and that's why we don't have rights" are just stupid as fuck. there's no type of trans person that's palatable to a transphobe. the reason you don't have rights is because cis people don't think any of us deserve bodily autonomy and it's a waste of time and energy to pretend otherwise

A free-range group therapy called "get herded, idiot", where you and everyone in your group is set loose to run around on an open field while a highly trained shepherd dog tries to keep you all in one group. I am not sure what benefit this would have for anyone involved.

This would fix everyone involved including the dog

theres a phenomenon that happens on here i have been calling "normalize loving parents posting" which is when you spend a lot of time on tumblr and are exposed to a lot of one specific counter-cultural narrative day in and day out until you start to forget what the dominant ideas are for most of the human population and thus feel the need to "defend" things that are widely accepted and popular. it's called this because of the time a bunch of text posts about shitty dads were circulating and then people with good relationships with their dad didn't feel included enough and started making "uhmmm can we normalize loving parents? not everyone has a deadbeat dad, MY dad is great" type posts, seemingly forgetting that good relationship with dad is a cultural norm that is expected and encouraged. i think its good practice, especially when im annoyed, to stop before i hit the post button and ask myself if this is a real issue or if im normalize loving parents posting. because often im about to try to normalize loving parents

I really don't get why certain "people" consider "female characters experience misogyny" as "the author/director/creator is a misogynist" it is a very 2+2=5 sort of perspective. Did you know women experience misogyny irl and if you tell a story about a woman's life that is honest it is going to be at least a little bit about experiencing misogyny?
