Interceptor OCs based on each of the A-Gang:
The Strength of Who you Are:
Aero II (Aero)(he/they): Why do the vessels this one picks always end up male? She's clearly a girl (insert world weary stare from the old Aero). "Mina" is very awkward and uncomfortable, and sometimes accidentally blurts out the wrong thing. In between everything else, Ren and Venam are in the background, facepalming. Eventually he figures himself out. When they defeat Aero the First and the two team up after the nightmare realm, they start using Aero's name again (much to Crescent's chagrin). The persistence is admirable, and seeing him reminds the old Aero of his strength. He develops some real confidence. (Ace: Mega Staraptor, called Genevieve. Practically mama bird to everyone else.) (no love interest. What, you thought the name Aero was just for show? It can be a pun. They both chose it for a reason.)
Total Tranquility in a Burning World
Agatha (Aevia) (she/her): Poisonously sweet, this Renegade loves the idea of bending the world to her will. She's got a sweet smile on her face as she chooses all the rudest options in the game. Some of the others aren't even sure they're being insulted when she speaks. She's the perfect picture of kindness and tranquility, until you get to know her. Aevia is horrified the entire time, but Agatha is just serene. She has a "no uggos" rule for her team: all cuties, thank you very much. She loves M2 so much. She wishes Melia was always so sassy and fashionable. (Ace: Primarina, called Sweetling. Just like his trainer.) (She and M2 are in toxic yuri together)
Aubade (Ariana) (they/them): Extremely quiet, this Interceptor has few memories of anything. They don't know who they are, so they become reliable and kind to the others. It's the least they can do. They do discover a love of poetry and music, and baking. They're quite the quick study of moves and techniques. Aevia and Aero prefer their presence, but they are near and dear to Ariana's heart. It's so nice to see someone just beginning to find all the joy in the world before fearlessly protecting it (though that deadpan expression is hard to get used to when it's on her old face!). They do sometimes overwork themselves for others, though... (Ace: A slightly arrogant delphox named Sonnet. Besties with Delpha.) (Aubade is too oblivious to see that Crescent is down bad for them)
A Beginner Student of Chaos
Dante (Axel) (he/him): This boring asshole is and indoor person who always picks the safe options! Why doesn't he live a little? Why is he wearing boring nerd glasses and a tie? Why the hell is he learning Garufan from scratch and sketching boring wall murals instead of running straight into ancient cursed traps? Ugh. Axel is glad he's making decent decisions but he suckssss...good thing Axel is here to teach this guy the power of chaos (and maybe kiss him. Axel tries to wingman Dante and Aelita but accidentally ends up dating them both)! Eventually, Dante stops playing it safe and changes up the "boring" stall strategies. He even pranks Aelita from time to time, without any of Axel's advice. (Ace: a sleepy Toxapex named Spike.) (the Axel/Aelita/Dante polycule is a source of extreme confusion and chaos for everyone else. Kenneth and Taelia like Dante but have no idea why Axel is there)
A1 (Aevis) (they/them): Their paragon was one of delight and perfect decision making. Amber and Tesla were truly their family. The happiest end. But it couldn't last. They saw it all, and felt that the renegade route was the only way to guarantee the safety of their own world for good. They mumble their lines, lose where they should win. They can't bring themselves to be cruel the entire time, but they must get this route as correct as possible. It's already happened, they must simply ensure it. They are a leader, and a leader must make sacrifices. Aelita cannot do it. It will be them. M2 disgusts them. Everyone with half a brain knows it's always been Melia and them. They call themselves A1. They don't deserve their old name, but they know damn well they are who they've always been. Aevis considers them a mockery of his ideals, but he can't help but be relieved it wasn't him who had to do all this... (Ace: An Aevian Glimmora with no nickname. Their past ace was a Blaziken named Valor.) (Their Melia back in Paragon was the only one to understand and encourage them to go back. They can't even look at M2 and see the face of the girl they loved).
The Wrath of Utter Humiliation
Grainne (Alain) (she/any): She's got a dopey smile and loooooves giving Hapi and Seviper treats. She does every sidequest, and won't shut up. They think Erin is a sourpuss. Alain and Crescent hate Grainne's guts. This asshole dyes her hair every other week and keeps choosing silly answers...even to their own detriment. Even Ariana thinks this idiot goes too far. Why couldn't he have picked Axel's body to cause all this chaos in? Stop flirting with everyone! At least Grainne battles seriously... but she threw a stink bomb at Vitus once. Okay maybe Alain laughed at that one. So what? At least Grainne isn't a fucking pushover, and actually has a sense of when to bring down some wrath. Unfortunately she is an excellent trainer, to the annoyance of everyone serious. (Ace: Fluffernutter the Garchomp. She loves belly rubs!) (Flirts with everyone, but is oddly serious when he does so with Erin...who seems to be one of the few who can fluster Alain.)
Yarrow (Ana) (it/it's): Someone is. Not good at pokemon. It does not know that fire beats steel. It keeps losing and has not found the luck tent to make things easier. Everyone wonders how it has gotten this far, including it. Ana feels so sorry for it. It's her pathetic little meow meow. In its journey, the other trainers carry it far more, and the A-gang is available to advise it earlier (they woke up early after Yarrow got sent to the Edge of its World too much). They would resent it more if Yarrow wasn't a genuinely nice little robot person who just. Probably shouldn't have been made interceptor and should have been allowed to grow vegetables instead. What was Variya smoking? (Ace: Aevian West Sea Gastrodon named Mudpie. Mudpie's personality is basically that one meme of the guy smoking and looking extremely jaded, though he will kill you if you make fun of Yarrow). (after losing this many battles and faceplanting into a Vileplume, it's not gonna bother shooting its shot with anyone. At least Reina seems to really find it endearing, though?)
