May I ask for your advice on how to move on from a friendship breakup? How it ended was incredibly messy but since moving in with them, it was a beautiful mess? Either way, I am trying explain the ordeal the best way I can but it is super long and I know that I also am the villain in this...(Not trying to lick wounds as they say but to finally about it with a 3rd party as I do not have a support system anymore...)

Losing friends is so hard. They’re woven into our life and get ripped out of it just like that. I’m not sure what advice to give, but I will say for me, I had to stop idolizing them and our past. Once I started seeing them as just another person who wasn’t meant to stay forever, I felt some comfort. They can mean the world to you, but you can still go on without them. It’s very hard to come to terms with. Giving it time helps. Missing them might just be something that fades but never really goes away, and that’s alright.

if i may add my own personal opinion and experience...

depending on how close you were with the person i'm unsure if it is ever going to fully heal and stop hurting....... because we keep clinging to the parts of "us" that are still in ourselves... HOWEVER, the one thing that has been helping me the most is letting go of the pieces of myself that crumbled with that friendship.

not trying to pick up the missing pieces back up again and fixing them, but learning how to build new pieces to fill the spaces and leaving the shattered parts of me behind.

recognising all the good, the bad and the dirty and remembering that the past is that. it is past. it is gone. and at some point we all need to bury our dead. chaining ourselves to a friendship that has come to an end or to the version of ourselves that lived that relationship or to the version of the person who was your friend once is the same thing as chaining a ship to an anchor and throwing the anchor on the sea but trying to keep sailing nonetheless.

it doesn't work.

let go. to let go is to grieve and to grieve is to bury the past and to bury the past is to let go.

if you keep holding on too tightly it might never fully heal. but if you recognise the pain, allow yourself to feel it and allow yourself to be angry and upset and go through all stages of grief, you'll learn how to leave the broken pieces behind. and one day... it'll be all that it is supposed to be: just a memory. just the past.

it isnt easy. but it is true that sometimes the only way out is through. stay strong, love. you've got this. and sorry for intruding.
