I love homestuck so bad….

no i just thought about it really hard. the other sort of story post about bunny prince.

i was really close to instead of writing the flashdrive, writing a bunny shaped lump of uranium, but it didn't quite fit. hal is handing over rights to a story she made over to dave. it's the same action of tearing out your heart and the same amount of pain.

cat roxy was going to be an old childhood friend that hal holds deep feelings of insecurity over. he being able to leave hal behind, and do other great things, she imagines. hal uses her likeness in the story, and binds her to be under her control. cat roxy is entirely a manifestation of her feelings of inadequacy from writing the same story repeatedly. she lets herself be the villain in the story out of the same sort of self punishment, but because of this, nothing goes anywhere.

crow dirk (also another manifestation) represents her suicidal thoughts. though he frames it as putting hal out of her misery, he is packed with hal's self loathing thoughts. hal accidentally kills the original bird in an accident, but she reframes it as something she did simply because "she was a bad person". she refuses to let go of the bird's corpse, and self harm with the thought.

bunny dirk wants to turn the inherently evil hal good, and save dream roxy and they'll all live happily together like how they all used to as kids. this dirk represents an idealized past, wanting to reconnect with roxy and then sealing the coffin back up again.
