i'm hearing you out because YEAHHH this needs to be talked about. i can SO see a rivalry between dancers chris and ginny who are at different prepro schools but compete at many of the same competitions. bigger competitions do attract a fair amount of attention (though generally not as much as sports like hockey, afaik) -- i can see them both eventually ending up as prix de lausanne finalists, for example, and getting offers from different pro companies (kind of like shane and ilya getting picked by their respective teams at the MLH draft). maybe chris is offered a contract with, idk, national ballet of canada, and ginny's offered one from american ballet theatre. just a vibe. could be any two world-class companies but the point is they're physically separated from each other most of the time. chris & ginny then end up starting an off-and-on relationship for the majority of their pro careers, getting to see each other only very rarely, perhaps at events like company galas or while traveling to guest in different cities. ilya and shane end up coming out and playing on the same team eventually -- maybe chris and ginny would similarly finish out their careers at the same company, come out, and get married after a while?

i have been a huge proponent of quebecoise/acadienne chris literally since the beginning. i need to find my freaking french todd posts from like 2023 HELP ME!! i love the idea of chris and ginny dancing for different ballet companies, this is so freaking smart. Are the American and Canadian ballets especially competitive with each other? I love that you've included the happy ending, this is amazing.

oh i wouldn’t say there’s any rivalry between the us and canada wrt ballet — those were just the first two major north american companies i thought of. because ballet’s an art form before anything else, to the extent that there’s competitive sentiment, it’s between dancers vying for promotions within the same company or between competitors at competitions like PdL or YAGP or ADCIBC

ya know, on one hand it makes me sad that ginny was such a small character in the script and that she was fully cut from the final version of the movie, on the other hand though, i don't think i could trust the writers with another female character so maybe it's for the best, i mean look at my girl chris, she ended up dating her stalker and it is framed as being romantic like😭😭

really need to see my doctor. it feels like my uterus is out to get me. ive been getting seriously suicidal/depressed in the week leading up to my period; and then ive always had really bad period cramps, which have been responding less and less to medicine lately. last month i was bedridden for 3 days straight bc of my cramps/nausea/general fatigue that i seem to get during my period. im about to start it again and im terrified because i have performances on saturday and would really like to be at my best physically for those, but... what can you do :/ it's possible i have, like, mild endo or something?? and/or pmdd? but it's also possible i just have a shitty pain tolerance and nothing's out of order. either way, i'm in pain and barely get 2 functional weeks a month nowadays

I noticed something in dps
in film class last year they taught us that when shooting dialogue you show connections by putting the back of someone in the shot or smth i don’t really remember BUT
in the “I’m trapped” scene when Neil is telling Mr Keating about how his dad won’t let him act it shows Mr K, therefore showing that Neil feels like Mr Keating really understands
but right after Mr Keating says that Neil should tell his father it no longer shows them together in the shot because Neil feels alone again, because he realizes that Mr K doesn’t fully understand his plight
so now I’m crying
