partnered sexual activity should be mutually beneficial, mutually wanted, and mutually pleasurable. it should be free from harm and abuse. it should provide a feeling of satisfaction, joy, companionship, and relaxation. it should not feel like something to overcome, something to master, something to deliver, something to perform, or something to recover from. it should be done with someone worth being vulnerable and trusting with, it should be worth having that connection carry with you for the rest of your life. your sexual partners may come and go, you may not love them, or you may think you did, or you might just want to act on very intense feelings in the moment that are special then but in the light of day evaporates, and that's okay that's life, life is messy and untidy. But you'll remember this person, and you will share with them this memory, even if you fall out of touch, and so they should be worthy to you. Your body, your life, your memories, your pleasure, your future, your bared self...these should be special to share, this should be an important decision. don't let bad people trick you into thinking it's just a transaction and nothing more. don't let people use you as masturbation. you gain nothing from that.
I love the idea, but the bar is too high. If this is the feeling I had to wait for to ever have sex, I'd never have had sex at all. Sex is wonderful, but it's just a human process. Don't treat it as the panacea of all human connection.
When I was like... six or something, my dad decided to punish me by breaking my stuff.
The first thing he broke was a Sailor Moon wand I loved.
The second thing he tried to break - after asking me to hand him something else, this rude fuck, and I was trying to find things I could sacrifice that wouldn't hurt nearly as much as the Sailor Moon wand he picked but were still "sufficiently liked" that he'd accept destroying it - was a small red radio, but it was too stubby for him to get both his hands around to snap. The wand, obviously, was super easy to break, because it was long and thin. So he gave up and decided I was punished enough, that fucking douchebag, who's now all upset that I don't want to drive a ten-hour round trip to go to a fancy dinner he wants to have for my brother's birthday, but combine it with mine 'cause "they're so close to each other." Which my brother is planning. And that my dad didn't mention inviting me to. 🙄 He's so fucking lazy.
Anyway. I have always been pissed at him for breaking that wand. I still have the companion Sailor Moon pendant thing. It's literally in my other room right now, in a mini-place of honour. I don't play with it, but I love the memory, and I'm proud I kept it this whole time (and obviously hid it to sacrifice the radio, which I don't think I have anymore. But godspeed, soldier 🫡). And over the past couple of years, I've hemmed and hawed about getting another Sailor Moon wand in general just 'cause I always liked it.
So.
Long story short.
I don't have that wand.
Because I looked it up on eBay after remembering that website exists, and searched for it.
It's BEAUTIFUL. This one has the locket on the right (the pink one) that I still have, but with the cord that I lost. That's the wand, with the red gem that was actually a ring that (even as a kid) was too small.
I know what you're thinking: "Tartra, how much is it?"
And the answer is, "Money is not a problem 💅🏽" It's my birthday. I even love that it's out of the box, 'cause I wanna swing it around.
So why did I say I didn't get it?
:/
I'm gonna be 36 next week.
I'm looking at this wand, and it's cute, and it's exactly what I remembered. I love that I can afford to replace what my dad purposely snapped for some punishment I can't even remember but obviously wasn't that bad, because he didn't even beat my ass for it. I think I was either rude or loud or who cares. I was six or seven years old.
I can't really... justify buying a hunk of plastic to swing around just to satisfy my inner child. I have the picture from eBay, and I kinda think that's enough. I don't need the real thing.
Because it's just plastic.
It lights up.
It makes noises.
The ring comes out.
That's it.
It's a kid's toy, and while it's a great one and I miss it, it's still just a kid's toy. I'm not trying to collect it for anything other than to have fun for a bit.
In short:
It's been thirty years.
And technology has evolved - LOOK WHAT I'M GETTING INSTEAD 🥳💖💖💖💖💖💖
So it's the same wand, but not only is the crescent a WAY better shape ('cause even as a kid, I was a bit bummed that the crescent was a bit flat instead of actually a crescent moon shape like in the show), and YOU CAN USE IT AS A FLASHLIGHT and as a battery pack!!
IT'S THE RESPONSIBLE, THIRTY-SIX YEAR VERSION OF THE SAILOR MOON WAND I JUST WANTED TO SWING AROUND - because it's functional! 🥰💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 See?! It's a toy, but it's a PRACTICAL TOY with REAL-WORLD USES! Like if the power goes out or I need to pee at 3 am - SAILOR MOON WAND, WITH 15 DIFFERENT COLOURS TO SWITCH THROUGH
YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY TO ME, FUCK YOU DAD, I'M GETTIN' MY WAND - NEW AND IMPROVED 🥳🥳🥳🥳
A harsh, intense orange. September softens it into a pleasant comfortable orange
See Marvel has managed to absolutely beat their own cinematic IP to death and I personally have no intention to see whatever phase 43 code orange Epsilon Delta persimmon harpsichord appendix 3 subsection A movie they intend to drop next BUT
When they inevitably do that anyways- and it's mid, because they're waist-deep in the mire of their own post-ironic, allergic-to-sincerity, quippy making- what I DO want to see is this:
It's very specific, but if you're still onboard, stick with me.
Rocket Raccoon and Bucky Barnes. Road trip sidequest. I do not care how they get there, but it has to happen. Maybe they're on the way to help the main gang. Obviously a sapient space raccoon and a 100-year-old legally dead ex-agent of a terrorist organization are not getting on a plane, so there you go.
Now, it's very important here that Bucky does not have the metal arm. I don't care how he lost it but he doesn't have it. So Rocket has to steal a new one- which is perfect, is it is already established that this is his bizarre life's passion. That is this movie's B plot.
Now once they get it, that's when plot A storyline's Big Bad comes in. Team Eyeliner arrives on scene, and now with the added support the good guys are holding their own, but they need juuuuust a little more firepower.
Rhodey is there in the suit, but he's been hit. Doesn't have manual control of the system anymore. The only way to get him back in the game is for someone else to pilot the thing remotely, but it's risky- he would be fully relying on that person to not only pilot it effectively, but avoid getting him killed in the process.
And on top of that, as major as that obviously is, we also have to consider that Tony is gone. This is probably the last suit beyond his own that he ever worked on, and if it's destroyed beyond repair... that's it.
The good news is, they have a specialist. The bad news is, it's Rocket. And Rocket literally just showed up with a bedraggled Buck, pulling up on the scene and falling out of a shitty little early-2000's Volvo full of empty cans with a "my kid's an honor student" bumper sticker slapped on the back and a freshly duct-taped-on arm that looks like it was made for a 98 year old florist- certainly not something that would be of much use in the kind of combat he's used to.
And it is at this point that we must ask ourselves a question.
We must ask ourselves THE question.
What kind of man would hand the right-hand-man to a man manning a second-hand left hand the right to man a man's last left manned mechanical man
I was so proud of myself I drew a picture about it

The Signal: Overload (ep.6)
Story & art by me
Finally made Duke & Cass team up episode! Always had this episode in mind since the beginning of Overload series, so I'm so glad I finished it! Hope you guys enjoy it!
Also, we're at episode 6! To anyone who are still sticking around, just wanna say thanks for enjoying the comic. Lot is happening in my life and it's really overwhelming sometimes, but I don't wanna abandon this series. Sharing it with people who loves Duke, just like I do, really means something to me. Idk. Thanks, and I hope you'll stick around in the future.
"transfeminists are trying to divide the community!" and the attempt to cause division in question is just.... asking trans men and transmascs to be conscious of their own transmisogynistic behaviors/beliefs and like, pointing out tangible evidence of them having privilege over us by virtue of not being transfem? how are we causing divisions when all we're doing is asking you to try not to contribute to our oppression? are you not the ones actively dividing the community by forcing us out of trans spaces with your transmisogyny and refusal to listen to even gentle criticism about the way you talk about and behave around your "trans sisters" that you claim to care so much about? it's always "protect the dolls" until we tell you that you're the ones making us feel unsafe in the first place, then you have egotistical meltdowns and compare us to our own oppressors. the divide begins and ends with your refusal to listen to us when we try to speak.
remember what i said about egotistical meltdowns? yeah
it is true, though. studies show that trans men/mascs do face the highest sexual assault rates, and it is a fact that they make up the lesser portion of political figures

Failure to acknowledge v-coding, so worse than worthless.
Idk why there aren't more trans man politicians, but probably because they choose not to run?
whether there are more of us in politics or not doesn't mean shit when we get paid less than trans men on average and even in relatively "liberal" countries like canada, a whopping 30% of trans women have been denied employment solely on the basis of their gender in the last 5 years. consider for a moment what our overall unemployment rates might look like because of this. as for your cherry-picked sources on sexual violence, i raise you v-coding and the fact that studies indicate that almost 50% of us have been or will be sexually abused in our lifetime. sexual abuse of trans women is not only enabled but rewarded by society - it is quite literally baked into the justice system in the U.S. thank you for proving the point made in my post though.
is it common for people to not read the studies they use as sources?
we as trans people all have incredibly high rates of sexual assault, and not one single moment of loss of sexual autonomy is acceptable whatsoever, trauma should never be compared, it is all shit.
but just like people bring up trans women having higher rates of nonsexual violence on a regular basis in conversations about trans people as a whole (to note: the study you linked here says trans women are four percent more likely to be physically assaulted, whereas the gap between trans men and trans women in the same study in regards to sexual assault is seven percent) this too is necessary to understand specifically what our communities are facing, and the likelihood of us facing them.
according to the 2011 study ‘injustice at every turn’ done by the national center for transgender equality, trans women were shown to be ten percent more likely to be assaulted in prison or jail, two percent more likely to be assaulted by police, eleven percent more likely to be assaulted in shelters, and five percent more likely to be assaulted in the workplace. do you know what all of those places have in common? they’re public. yet in study, after study, after study, after study, after study, including the one you linked, trans men have higher lifetime rates of sexual violence, with one of these showing a gap as large as seventeen percent between us and trans women, which denotes that said violence is happening to us in private. that does not mean it is not happening. there is nothing but horror to be had at even the concept of v coding, but that is not something that should be used, nor makes sense to use, when speaking about lifetime rates of sexual violence in the overall trans community.
speaking of the overall trans community, that hrc study on the wage gap says in the very first paragraph of methodology that this study should not be used to represent the entire lgbtq community. which you are explicitly doing. i again, can only imagine you must not have read your own sources.
if you were to have looked into this topic further perhaps you would have found this study done using the data from the 2015 u.s. transgender survey that expands on the nuances at play regarding transgender men and women and our incomes.
if you’ll notice, this study found that transgender men are more likely to work part time, and in the study you linked, they only included full time work in the data.
i do appreciate you posting that canadian study though, i have been looking for data on sexual violence in the canadian trans community for ages, and that really helped me out!
Jason: Respectfully, I disrespect your taste in men, and also my dad… but mostly my dad.
I don’t think people comprehend how much time Dick has spent in space. The New Teen Titans run of the 80s was significantly inspired by the space opera genre (think Star Wars and adjacent franchises), and Wolfman loved cosmic-scale storytelling. He inserted it everywhere possible. So, over the course of only a couple years, the Titans spent cumulative months traveling in space. Dick spent weeks on Tamaran alone. They fought, to my recollection, no fewer than two galaxy spanning wars.
I’m not saying the others haven’t been in space. They have, for crisis-level events, or to visit the Justice League, or possibly for other minor things. But there’s a difference between visiting space and space faring, and I’d argue only Dick has crossed into the latter (barring maybe Bruce).
Can you imagine how weird this would make him? I dunno, there’s just so much potential in Mr. Accidentally Star Trekker yapping about the Omega Men to his decidedly much more terrestrial siblings. It makes me laugh.
True, true. I hate it when this happens.
As I’m sure we’ve all experienced. Right boys? Right?

Shout out to that one tumblr post that was like: "You know it's not just trans people who ponder their gender, it's healthy for cis people to take a look inside and be like! Yep that's all good!" And I read this post and was like.... like what do you look at inside though T O T??? I asked my boyfriend how he knew he was a boy and he said he just felt this unexplainable intrinsic feeling he was a boy... and I'm like... I HAVE GENUINELY NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT WTF 😭😭😭!!!!!!!! So apparently its like. Normal for people to feel this inexplicable 'Gender' feeling or whatever,,, I feel like how asexual people feel when they discover people around them aren't making up the fact they experience sexual arousal T O T
Obviously all my sciency stuff is just speculation! But I'm the type of person who believe that everything has a rationale behind it, and like an adopted child who is curious about their biological parents, I am just interested in my origins! The field of genetics still is mostly just like,,,, hmmm we think this whatever MIGHT be a contributing factor to a person turning out this way... maybe. If you are more interested in the topic I discussed, just look up 'epigenetics' and there should be some more stuff OuO!
I'd love to hear how this 'inexplicable gender feeling' feels to gendered individuals! For those willing to share, I'd love to listen!

In the middle of conflict, it’s easy to slip into a mindset of me versus you. The goal becomes ‘winning’ the argument, proving you’re right, or making sure the other person finally understands your pain. But when you fight to win, you often both end up losing because the relationship takes the damage.
Responding to these tags.
In the middle of conflict, it’s important that both people feel heard. The problem isn’t wanting someone to understand your pain. The problem is when the conversation becomes entirely about your pain, to the point that there is no room left for the other person’s perspective or feelings.
Being understood is important. But conflict cannot be resolved if only one person’s feelings matter. This is the point I was trying to make.
I could make that more clear in this passage though, so thanks for pointing that out. I kind of make the distinction is surrounding passages but I can see why this comes off wrong and I’ll have a look at it a little more.
It's hard because I love debates. I love getting into the zeal of a good back and forth, and really examining every minute of detail in a topic.
The problem is, several times I've been so into the details of a debate that I completely miss that the other person is hanging on for dear life. What to me is an uplifting wind is to them a battering hurricane. It's horrifying to suddenly realize what you believed was a thought provoking debate was actually a relationship harming argument.
There's nothing else to do at this point but apologize and try and mend the relationship. I know this is a fault of mine and it's something I actively try to recognize now. You can only get burned so many times before you avoid flames.
Juneteenth is about Black people who were officially technically supposed to be freed from enslavement. Nobody else. Nothing else. It's not a POC day. It's not a "freedom for all" day. It's Black folk, Black culture, Black emancipation, SPECIFICALLY. Any other observation for Juneteenth is gentrification.
Your Juneteenth reminder that just because they made it a "national holiday," it's still not. It's for the celebration of Black Americans being freed from slavery, finally.
It's from Texas. We been welcoming other descendants of the enslaved. But we close the gate and draw the line with "everybody."
Bringing this back on Juneteenth because making Black observations a national holiday didn't and doesn't end racism and the nonblacks are more insufferable than they have been in my lifetime about Black American people and our things.
Happy Juneteenth to those whose lives would not be actively free without the day happening. See the rest of you tomorrow.
