Counseling Session – Ensign Carol & Ensign Keisha
The counselor’s office on the USS Athena was quieter and softer than most rooms on the ship. Warm lighting, comfortable chairs, and a large viewport that showed the stars drifting past. Counselor Troy sat across from the two young officers, her long wavy dark hair falling over one shoulder, her Mediterranean features calm and attentive. She wore the same short black-and-gold minidress as the rest of the senior staff, but somehow still managed to look gentle.
Ensign Carol sat carefully, still aware of the faint residual warmth in her bottom from the day before. Ensign Keisha sat beside her, hands folded in her lap.
Counselor Troy offered them both a small, reassuring smile.
“Thank you for coming. Captain Voss asked me to check in with both of you after the recent corrections. This is a safe place to speak honestly. How are you feeling about the discipline you’ve received?”
Carol was the first to answer, her voice quiet. “It’s… a lot. The orientation paddling the first morning, then Gina’s hand spanking on the bridge, and knowing the Captain can order a diaper whenever she decides I need one. I keep telling myself it’s just the way this ship works, but it still feels humiliating.”
Keisha nodded slowly. “Same. The sting fades, but the embarrassment stays longer. And now that we understand the Athena is pretty much our last chance in Starfleet… every spanking feels heavier. Like it’s not just about the mistake we made that day. It’s about whether we belong here at all.”
Counselor Troy listened without interrupting, her dark eyes soft but attentive. When both women had finished, she spoke in a steady, compassionate voice.
“Those feelings are completely normal. Being taken over someone’s knee, especially in front of others or with the knowledge that a diaper may follow, touches something very deep. Some officers feel anger. Some feel shame. Some even feel a strange sense of relief that someone is finally holding them firmly accountable. All of those reactions are valid.”
She leaned forward slightly.
“What I need you both to understand is that the methods used on this ship are not random. Captain Voss and Commander Gina correct you because they believe you are still worth correcting. The paddle, the hand, even the diaper… they are tools meant to keep you here instead of losing you to a discharge. That does not make the experience easy. It only means the stakes are real.”
Carol looked down at her hands. “Do you… ever have to use those tools yourself, Counselor?”
Troy’s expression remained kind, but something quietly firm entered her voice.
“I have full authority to do so if I believe it will help an officer settle and focus. That includes ordering an extended period in disciplinary diapers, and applying them myself when necessary. I prefer conversation first. But if conversation is not enough, I will not hesitate.”
The two ensigns exchanged a quick glance, suddenly realizing the soft-spoken woman across from them carried the same quiet power as the captain and first officer.
Counselor Troy gave them both another gentle smile.
“For today, I only needed to hear how you are processing everything. You are allowed to feel conflicted. You are allowed to feel sore and embarrassed. What you are not allowed to do is give up on yourselves. The Athena is your last opportunity. Use it.”
She stood, signaling the end of the session.
“If the feelings become too heavy, you come back and talk to me. That is an order as much as an invitation. Dismissed.”
Carol and Keisha rose, still thoughtful, and left the office with a clearer understanding that even the ship’s counselor was part of the same firm, unyielding structure that governed every other part of their lives on the Athena.
