at my first job out of college we had an "all-hands" company meeting/retreat thing at Foxwoods Casino. because of who i am as a person, i brought a few blunts with me and ended up hotboxing my hotel room's bathroom (you're explicitly allowed to smoke in the rooms lol) with my coworkers one night. they were all 10-20 years older than me and one guy in particular hadn't smoked in years + was used to smoking dirt so he ended up zooted out of his mind. as he would tell the rest of us the next morning, instead of wandering back to his hotel room after leaving mine at 10pm like everyone else, he got EXTREMELY lost and somehow ended up in the closed, dark shopping mall attached to the casino.

so many misguided metaphors around violence and desire. if the open maw of a panting beast fills you with the want to be devoured, that does not make you prey. while the rabbit trembles in fear, its deepest desire is to run. evolution demands it. in fact, the desire to be eaten does not make you any small animal at all.
