In another universe (where somehow widespread fanfiction platforms were made available a few decades sooner), the Winter Soldier arc is a what if/fix-it fic that got reasonable attention but a mixed reception because, well, we already have Jack Monroe who basically hit all of those plot beats and who gets killed off in the fic for no reason (beyond perhaps the writer's grudge), then you break the comic book rule of Don't Bring Bucky Back, you hook him up with Black freaking Widow who he ALLEGEDLY knew during his Soviet spy training, and then you make him Captain America? Seems like a bit of a power trip for the author's favorite character, but ok. Completely turns canon on its head, but as far as "ways to bring back Captain America's dead sidekick who mostly exists as angst fodder" tend to go, it's pretty solid. The Cold War grounding for this character who is so strongly associated with World War 2 and who died tragically during it, is a good thematic choice. But overall, mixed reception.

Oh and of course Bucky Barnes would probably have almost no fandom at all lol.

Hi! I really appreciate that! ^_^ I'm really fond of your drawings too!

Surprise Jack! I needed something to do with my hands and since I've wanted to draw him for a while in one of his Nomad suits it felt like the right opportunity (picked the one with the cape bc capes are fun to draw).

Not the usual sort of pose I'd think to give him LOL but of all people I think he deserves a little whimsy in life. Next time I draw him it'll probably be something more proper. I'll give him better facial features than this too, but this is just a really quick sketch (or about as quick of a sketch as I can do. lol.)

Man y'know it really speaks to Jack Monroe's isolation as the third Bucky when you think about the fact that he wasn't on any team. Bucky Barnes had the Young Allies and the Kid Commandos and the Invaders (and the Liberty Legion and the Hellhunters, for a time). Fred Davis Jr. had the Young Allies and the Kid Commandos and the All Winners Squad. Jack Monroe just had William Burnside. He really didn't have a group of friends or even allies the way Bucky and Fred did. Burnside had him totally isolated.

Sentry × Silent Hill 2 crossover, anyone? 👀

Got this idea while re-reading Bendis' New Avengers ~ last year I got a rather intense moment of fixation about SH2 as I was watching my fav streamer playing the remake and I fell in love with the game and its story. I think the whole fucked up hallucinations, guilt and obsessions in a mindscape purgatory that doesn't make sense would fit quite well with Bob and the whole Sentry lore.

Robert Reynolds takes James' spot of course, looking for his beloved (but also dead) wife Lindy in the town of Silent Hill. There she meets "the Sentress", a beautiful lady who looks suspiciously like Lindy, but what if she was a superhero? Bob always wanted to be a superhero too. In the town, he's haunted by The Void instead of Pyramid Head, and some of the monsters are dog-like to represent Watchdog, instead of the nurses. Bob would start his quest in a more heroic way, feeling like the Sentry as he takes out the monsters, looking for Lindy, and then slowly descending back into Bob as the story torments him more and more. Scout and Mallory could appear also as the other people trapped in the town by their own traumas.
