there's a delicate balance between "seeing something on my dash so often i end up caring about it unexpectedly" and "seeing something on my dash so often that it gets added to the blocked list with extreme prejudice"
Iâm paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. â¤ď¸
Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.
Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is âMartin and Bosco Dayâ. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.
Hugs my mutuals

This Istanbul house was built in four historical eras
First floor: columns from Eastern Roman (Byzantine) era.
Second floor: archs from "again" Eastern Roman era.
Third floor: stonewalls from Ottoman Empire era.
Fourth floor: mud bricks from the first years of the Republic of Turkey.
Oh, wow, I love this! History sometimes seems indeed to be made more of accumulation, superposition and reuse rather than starting from zero, metaphorically speaking...

If they canât pay an artist I just assume the product is so bad that it doesnât sell enough to cover the costs
The funniest thing about how maids are depicted in a certain kind of fiction is that, like, at least half the time the people who ostensibly own the place don't even really seem to want them to be there? It's often genuinely unclear who their actual employer is, or whether they're getting paid at all â it's like looking at a universe where if you build a fancy enough house, maids just show up, like rats.
Imagine such a universe. And they immediately begin setting everything in order the way they please.
Because they show up any place suitably fancy, they show up in the wizard's tower and start organizing the books and cleaning out the cupboards of reagents. Even dungeons that have too much class run the risk of attracting a small pack of maids who'll clean the place up and make it- shudder- livable. Totally ruins the use of a dungeon.
Nobody hires them. Nobody lets them in. But once a pack of maids are established, you can't be rid of them. The ones inside let in others. Money or goods disappear like a hidden tax. Carefully hoarded supplies get turned into fancy meals and clothes, whether they were supposed to be used that way or not. Every barracks is as plain as possible to try to avoid summoning such a curse.
The wizard who lives in a leaky hut on stilts might be miserable in wet weather, but at least he knows that the dragon dung for his experiments won't get thrown out with the garbage.
isn't this just the plot of Howl's Moving Castle?

I love Environmental Storytelling
It occurs to me that there are people who werenât on this website in 2012 and therefore never saw the magical gif that you can actually hear:
Itâs been over five years and that still impresses the hell out of me.
wdym you can hear it?
Basically, itâs a form of synesthesia, movement-hearing. In this case, you expect to hear a thud, so you do. Itâs estimated that 20% of people experience this type of synesthesia, as opposed to 2-4% for other kinds.
YO what the FUXK
The longer you watch it the more you get convinced that you can hear a distant thud and the air displace.
I heard the thud. I closed my eyes and the thud stopped. I opened my eyes and I heard the thud. My goodness but human brains are a mess.
This was easily the first ever viral post on Tumblr back in 2011/12. Perhaps even before the great âwhat your leg feels like after falling asleepâ followed by a picture of a static teevee channel.
Growing up is actually all about realizing people donât inherently dislike you and itâs a bit odd to assume they do

there are more tweets in this thread
fucking SLAY
this isnt even the full thread, there are even MORE tweets to this thread that i think are really necessary to read if you do what op is talking about! it is not enough to know that feeling this way hurts the people you love, we already know that.
this rest of the thread continues after the third tweet from the reblog.
like THE FULL THREAD is genuinely so reassuring.
sometimes, it is not enough to just know, sometimes you might need that reassurance of "do you really think of me when i'm away?" and someone reassuring you that yeah, they do. and evaluate that! trust that! just like op did.
and then learning that ykw, it's NOT any of my business really. and finding comfort in that trust that like. whether they are or aren't thinking of me, they really do love me.
this full thread changed my life and i am ALWAYS going to give the full thread because the parts people cut out aren't enough for the people experiencing these things, speaking as someone who does. it, really it just makes us, made me, feel bad about my own capabilities when i saw the unfinished thread.

Aardwolves at the Nashville Zoo
Aardwolves are among the most elusive animals on earth, rarely seen in the wild and almost unheard of in U.S. zoos. Thatâs why weâre thrilled to welcome two pups that guests can meet beginning Friday, Sept. 5 in the nursery at our HCA Healthcare Veterinary Center. These 14-week-old pups were born at Safari Wild Animal Park & Preserve in Mississippi and came to Nashville Zoo for specialized care. Our team is nationally recognized for raising rare carnivores, having successfully cared for more than 45 clouded leopard cubs over the past 30 years. That same expertise is now helping us provide the care these unique pups need to thrive. So, what exactly is an aardwolf? These nocturnal animals are the smallest members of the hyena family, marked by striking stripes and a mane that stands on end when threatened. Unlike other hyenas, aardwolves donât hunt large prey. Instead, they specialize in eating termites, sometimes licking up to 300,000 in a single night with their sticky tongues! The aardwolf pups join a baby boom at our nursery, which also includes three clouded leopard cubs and a spotted fanaloka kit born on Aug. 24. With only a handful of aardwolves in U.S. zoos, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet and learn about a species most people have never encountered before.
