I'm gonna say it.
It's unhinged to assume that someone's taste in fiction equates to what they believe is moral or good, or is something they want to see or experience in real life.
That is a bonkers assumption to make.
I'm tired of humoring people with long arguments about it when the simple fact is it is a totally fucking absurd reach to accuse someone who enjoys something in fiction of being in favor of it in real life.
I'm tired of pretending like this is a legitimate position to hold-- that they should be afraid of fiction's dire influence on a reader's moral decay or that it's a sign of what the author secretly wants for realsies in real life.
I promise you it is still getting me death threats in 2024.

learned yesterday of a lesbian softball league that in its inception in the 70s was open only to 1) absolute beginners 2) lovers of people already in the league. in order to keep serious intense sport-players out. now join me in imagining a romance novel where a plucky young woman has to seduce a softball player to join and sabotage her friend's rival team
[with barely concealed lust] what the fuck is wrong with him

It's largely airbrushed! That's why it doesn't look like you expect acrylic to look, if you're expecting it to have been applied with a traditional brush
I love how art programs have spent decades building tools to ape traditional materials and techniques digitally, while at the same time artists have gone ahead and aped the digital funk of MSpaint and bad photoshop in traditional mediums. That's just really fun to me!

sometimes it sucks liking wrestling as someone who thinks of women as people with interiority and stuff. like you can watch a womens wrestling match that got a lot of hate and within the first watch be able to recognize that much of the limitations of the match come from someone's timing not being confident and that she's constantly manually adjusting her gear and you are able to empathize with that cuz damn it sucks trying to feel confident in your performance wearing stuff that fits weird and feels seconds away from a wardrobe malfunction and like training and development for womens wrestling isnt where it should be and knowing that someone has had injuries that set her back right as she was finding a groove it's so much easier to see potential in someone and you don't even get to have that super easy button to press of "she just inherently sucks and should count herself lucky to be booked at all" it sucks i wish i could be a raging misogynist, yknow? everything seems so much easier
