do you ever read about clean eating and intermittent fasting and cleanses and all that shit and just think about how good the wellness industry is as repackaging dangerous and disordered eating habits as shiny wellness routines and become literally enraged
literally every fucking day
so I made a which member of the fellowship are you quiz
feel free to come yell at me if you get a result you donât want
HA!
what was the first show yâall broke up withâŚyou know like the first show you had that was your everything for a good amount of time and then it fucked up so bad that like you felt your heart breaking with sadness, disappointment and hurt and then you vowed never to see it again? iâll start mine was shame/ess
my favorite scene in LotR as a kid was when Sam started miserably freestyling in the tower of Cirith Ungol and the only reason he ever found Frodo was because he deliriously tried to join in
âŚi did read some of the novels, but i couldnât get through them entirelyâŚ
âŚand so i genuinely have no idea whether or not this is serious. coz i mean, obviously, it could be a joke. but it could also have legitimately happened. people who have only seen the films underestimate the amount of random things that happen in the books that could come off as utterly silly and ridiculous if removed from their context.
Haha, well, it is pretty much what happens. Sam is looking for Frodo in the tower of Cirith Ungol and is despairing that he will ever find him. He sits down and does what any self-respecting Tolkien character does during their moments of hopelessness and bursts into song.
Itâs a really good song (ten year old Ship had it memorized) and as he begins the refrain a second time, he hears Frodoâs voice answering weakly from above. Frodo is poisoned and despairing and beaten but he is still a Hobbit and cannot resist a singalong even while on the brink of death.

God works hard but Lil Nas X works harder
Lord of the Rings:
Vs.
Game of Thrones:
"But where's that light coming from" BITCH IT'S FANTASY WHO CARES
Ok but also from a like, theatrical storytelling perspective, thereâs a thing called âwillful suspension of disbeliefâ which is basically the concept that in order to let ourselves be immersed and enjoy a story, we need to turn off our knowledge that itâs all fake anyway.
like yes, we all *know* itâs unrealistically bright for a night time war, but it needs to be so we can SEE the story being told, and the lighting designer used blue light to show it was night time. We KNOW that Sir Ian isnât actually a wizard but we SUSPEND that DISBELIEF because we want to be entertained.
theres the moon, theres the stars, in this fantasy world the stars might be four times as bright or there might be two moons or, considering this is a land without electric lights, its assumed that everyones eyes, including those of the viewers, have adjusted enough to the darkness that yes normal ass moon and stars provide sufficient illumination to actually see that the elf king is not wearing sweatpants like youd be able to tell or who the hell was that who just got stabbed thats kind of an important detail in an action scene
Elijah Wood said he brought this up with Andrew Lesnie, cinematographer on LOTR, once and asked him where the light was coming from in a particular scene, and Lesnie just smiled and said âsame place as the musicâ.
I am not your midlife fucking crisis.
Thx

im not paying three dollars for this theres no capri sun and they didnt spell salammy right
when you inform Mother that you would like to eat lunchables just as the other schoolchildren do at luncheon
i learned that actor Danny Trejo has the most on-screen deaths of anyone in Hollywood history, with 65. Followed by Christopher Lee (60), Lance Henriksen (51), Vincent Price (41), Dennis Hopper (41), Boris Karloff (41), and John Hurt (39). (x)
Yet poor Sean Bean is stuck with the reputation for dying in every movie. Unfair.
Give him time, he still has many years of dying yet to come.
Also thereâs the question of density vs quantity. If you make a hundred movies and die in 50, and someone else makes 30 movies and dies in 30, the first one has died more, but the second one has died more often per movie.
Itâs the DPM ratio that really counts, IMO.
65/402 16% Danny Trejo 60/282 21% Christopher Lee 51/259 20% Lance Henriksen 41/211 19% Vincent Price 41/205 20% Dennis Hopper 41/204 20% Boris Karloff 39/209 19% John Hurt 33/117 28% Sean Bean
Iâm so proud of the statistical side of tumblr for coming through on this.
You were either a Magic Treehouse kid, a Goosebumps kid, an Animorphs kid, or a Babysitters Club kid.
this is the top 2 thing iâve seen on the internet today, & itâs not number 2.
One time a friend told me that if she wanted to have a chill night she would come to me and ask for tea and a book to read. I didnât like tea at the time, but I always made sure my cupboards had them in case she needed a quiet night. One time I told my boss that I loved oranges, but couldnât peel them because of my nails. For a year he made sure to peel me one at least once a week. Once my friends gave me a made up superlative of âmost likely to have a pen they could borrowâ and ever since Iâve made sure I always carry a pen with me. A long time ago, my high school librarian told me that no one would care what my grade in my sophomore chemistry class was if Iâm bringing them doughnuts and asking them about their day.
Sometimes friendship is about carrying pens and peeling oranges. But the point is, surrounding yourself with people who you want to do the little things for. The point of it all is bringing in the doughnuts because youâve found the people who deserve the doughnuts.
And Iâm so fucking lucky, and I donât always say it or even think it. Because I have friends who send me letters and who told me when the cafeteria at work had chopped tomatoes and who want to watch Scream with me and it just hits me sometimes that this world can do the ugliest things to people, but as long as I still have a friend who will point out dogs on the sidewalks to me then I have something amazing to live for. And as long as I have pals who I want to make peppermint bark for, then I have a reason to keep pushing this world to be better.
