The fact that itâs mostly women and men who donât conform to traditional gender stereotypes that get asked for their pronouns (or automatically get referred to with gender neutral pronouns) is not âby chanceâ and it sends a message to everyone.
It sends the message that only stereotypically feminine women and stereotypically masculine men are real women and men, and thatâs why they always get referred to with their correct pronouns and their gender is correctly assumed, as opposed to people who donât conform to these stereotypes. People then use neutral pronouns to assert that they are uncertain about said personâs gender because of their clothes, hair, style and it certainly doesnât help breaking down then barriers.
How is singling out women and men who donât conform to traditional femininity or masculinity out of large groups of people and only asking them for their pronouns not reinforcing gender stereotypes and gender expectations of men and women?
People have internalized gender stereotypes so much that they think that not conforming to them is somehow making somebody less male or female or neither or both. Weâll never manage to abolish gender inequality and gender stereotypes. Weâre embracing them now. Weâve gone backwards.

Women are so beautiful with their soft skin and their bright eyes and their lovely voices
And men are wonderful with their tough spirits and great muscles and their sweet laughs

I like it better like this đ
For my revolian girls and boys who feel like theyâll never find anyone who loves them and accepts them the way they are because of how they present themselves- we will all be loved one day.
Even if our first kisses or relationships are delayed in comparisons to others our age. Even if we feel like we are doomed to being lonely because we donât âlook like straight people are supposed to lookâ to attract the opposite sex.
Please donât despair. Please donât change. Please donât hurt yourself. Youâre not less worthy of love đâ¤ď¸đ¤đđ

Guys: uhh why do women only like tall men?? Why does height matter so much?
Also guys: tall girls are so unattractive I would never want to date a girl taller than me thatâd be embarrassing đ¤Žđ¤Ž

Music videos of female artists: women get objectified part 2.
Some tumblr user which Iâm not going to name because I genuinely feel sorry for her, recently stained the name of Revolianism by calling us terfs, and then she said we have a âpride flagâ, even though that is impossible because we are not LGBT in any way shape or form and donât want to intrude either, we just have a flag to show positivity for us, which she decided to hate on, and on top of that, she said that only girls are revolians đ (just so you have an idea about how informed she really is). Thoughts and prayers đđđť
P.S if you canât see her post itâs because she blocked pretty much anyone who ever posted in ârevolianâ or ârevolianismâ hashtags because she didnât want us to be able to defend ourselves. A real brave legend.
Dear straight cis men:
-you are allowed to wear makeup
-you can have long hair and pretty colors in it
-you can do your eyebrows or have a skincare routine
-you can have a flamboyant fashion sense
And you can do all of the above and still be masculine and your sexuality is valid. Please donât feel compelled to conform to social norms- break the chains.

Teddy girls started gaining attention in the 1950s, having their style characterized as ârebelliousâ, they broke all the dress codes which were much stricter in their days. This is revolian culture.
They had no problem having short hair, even though that was seen as even more outrageous back then. Absolute legends.
Teddy girls are the early revolian girls. Guys we literally have a historical ancestry!!!
Hello, hereâs your daily friendly reminder that:
Women donât have to look good for men
Looks (hair length, clothes, makeup or the lack of makeup) donât indicate somebodyâs sexuality; revolians exist.
Sexual objectification of both men and women in the media affects peopleâs self esteem and mental health
Liking âmasculineâ women is not the same thing as liking men, and liking âfeminineâ men is not the same thing as liking women.
You donât have to force yourself to be someone youâre not just because you would fit in better with the rest.
Current gender stereotypes and gender roles are at the basis of the inequality between men and women, and have been so since they were established.
Biology and social constructs are two separate things.
â Women donât have to look good for men â Equally, men donât have to be appealing to women. If men want to MGTOW, thtâs up to them. However, if you want to be successful in business, looks matter. If you want to maximise your attractiveness, looks matter.
That applies regardless of your sexual preference. â Looks ..donât indicate somebodyâs sexualityâ They are signifiers. That means, people choose to communicate to others what their preferences are, to stop wasting time.
If I see a woman with a haircut like that, I know thereâs a fair chance sheâs not interested in men, and men are better off steering clear. Itâs obviously not absolute, but...
I think women are going to be wasting their time with those to, donât you? â Sexual objectification â Doesnât exist. â You donât have to force yourself to be someone youâre not just because you would fit in better with the rest. â Depends, sometimes fitting in is necessary for survival. Iâve talked to a lot of gay men who hated living in the country. When they moved to the city, they could relax and be themselves. I certainly feel that way about my political beliefs; Iâd expect to be bashed for wearing a MAGA hat, for example. Iâm hardly alone in that - Twitter is full of blue checkmarks promising violence to the next person they see wearing anything that supports Trump. â Current gender stereotypes and gender roles are at the basis of the inequality between men and women â Nope, biology created the gender roles, which is why Tumblr went apeshit about a lioness with a hormonal imbalance. Men and women have different brains, which means we think differently, gosh, whoâda guessed? The inequality is created in the West by Feminism, who privilege women above men. In the Islamic countries, you could say the reverse happens, but it is argued that they are protecting women - and males are still expected to die protecting women. Iâve argued with feminists who say that men laying down their lives for their girlfriends is just men defending their property. Seriously, I donât think there are men around willing to take a bullet for their car.
Ok, maybe for that car. â Biology and social constructs are two separate things. â Oneâs science, one pretends to be science. Almost nothing feminists say is a social construct is a science. Saying that humans have an infinite number of sexes - or no sexes at all - is insane, but it is what comes out of feminism, and the danger is that the retooling of universities to become feminist propaganda outlets may result in âFeminist Scienceâ becoming the new Lysenkoism. âBrain imaging shows that testosterone therapy given as part of sex reassignment changes the brain structures and the pathway associated with speech and verbal fluency. This result supports research that women in general may deal with speech and interaction differently than men.â (source) â Long-standing studies have indeed shown that males do tend to score higher on tests of mathematical ability and spatial processing (particularly geometric thinking) than females, who score higher than males on test of verbal fluency, perceptual speed and manual dexterity (Casy, Nutall & Pezaris, 1997; Maccoby & Jacklin, 1974). In a study of students under age 13 with exceptional mathematical ability, boys outnumbered girls 13 to 1 (Benbow & Stanley).â (source)
Sorry, but we donât do âsignifiersâ in 2019. Short hair doesnât make a woman a lesbian. A woman cutting her hair short doesnât suddenly turn into a lesbian, just like a man growing his out or wearing makeup doesnât suddenly turn him gay.
You seem like you believe straight people arenât capable of doing anything they want, and thatâs a toxic way of thinking. Clothes, also, are a fashion matter, not a sexuality matter.
Thinking that way only shows being close minded and thinking in patterns, thus encouraging stereotypes. If you donât personally like short haired women, you should stay away from us, instead of claiming that our hair somehow makes us gay.
(Also, there are a bunch of long haired feminine lesbian women, but somehow you donât feel the need to steer clear from those? Sounds like you just have a problem with short haired gals.)
Sexual objectification does exist. If you ever opened a tv or just a magazine, or walked down the street youâd eventually see someone almost naked, because sex sells, and everybody knows it.
I donât know why the last part of the response was needed because literally what I said was that biology is different from social constructs, which means that men and women ARE biologically different, but long hair does not belong to women, just like short hair does not belong to men. Those are social constructs. They are related to appearance. Unless of course you believe that having long hair turns somebody into a woman or vice versa.
Hello, hereâs your daily friendly reminder that:
Looks (hair length, clothes, makeup or the lack of makeup) donât indicate somebodyâs sexual orientation; revolians exist and so do gay people who conform to gender stereotypes.
Sexual objectification of both men and women in the media affects peopleâs self esteem and mental health
Liking âmasculineâ women is not the same thing as liking men, and liking âfeminineâ men is not the same thing as liking women.
You shouldnât have to force yourself to be someone youâre not just because you would fit in better with the rest.
Some gender stereotypes and gender roles are products of older inequalities between men and women, and have been so since they were established.
Biology and social constructs are two separate things. If a man is more âfeminineâ, that does not make him âlook like a womanâ or that does not mean he wants to be a woman. Same goes for women who are more âmasculineâ.
Straight cis people who donât conform to gender stereotypes and roles are a minority and can be discriminated against by more powerful groups, but we are not LGBT and donât want to invade or claim we have a place in LGBT spaces.
If a little girl wants to play with dolls, let her.
If a little girl doesnât want to play with dolls, donât force her. If she wants to play with a truck instead, let her.
If a little boy wants to play with trucks, let him. If he doesnât want to play with trucks, donât force him. And, if heâd rather play with dolls, let him.
Itâs that simple.
If youâre a woman, youâre womanly.
If youâre a man, youâre manly.
There is no right way to âlook like womanâ or âlook like a manâ.
Biology wins over social constructs.

If I see one more situation in which an older person looks at a young revolian girl and then looks at her parents with pity in their eyes and says âdonât worry, they will settle down later, all girls have a rebellious phase when theyâre young!â, Iâm gonna lose my mind.
Theyâre basically implying that they are free and ârebelliousâ now but when theyâll realize they have to be âgirly girlsâ for boys to like them, they will drop it. No- you donât have to be like that, you shouldnât have to force yourself to be someone youâre not in order to get approval.
I want every young revolian girl to know that who you are is valid and itâs not âa phaseâ, itâs a beautiful identity, and clearly, itâs not for everybody to understand.
Revolians are valid! They exist! And they are the proof that somebodyâs looks donât dictate their sexuality.
Everybody is free to look however they want, and it wonât invalidate their sexuality.
