John Lennon (1940-1980).British musician and songwriter,best known as a member of iconic and legendary British band,The Beatles (I wanna Hold Your Hand,In My Life,Eleanor Rigby,Help!,Love is All You Need. Albums: Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band,...etc),and after their break up in 1970. He later formed the Plastic Ono Band,often accompanied by his second wife,Yoko Ono,and became known for his activism in several human rights,anti Vietnam war causes,especially his infamous 1969 New york City anti-war 'Bed-in' .His notable hits with the Plastic Ono Band,included the iconic 'Imagine','Give Peace a Chance',and the 1971 Christmas hit 'Happy Xmas (War is Over),alluding to his anti-war activism. He was assassinated outside the Dakota aprtment bulding,in New York City,USA,by Mark David Chapman,on December 8th 1980.
