Hello! My name is Rehkitz! I'm 18, AroAce, Bisexual, and a self taught writer/artist currently in college. I think I might be neurodivergent but can't get diagnosed so I'm only heavily speculating as of now. I'm not always active because of strict religious parents but I try my best to be when I'm available and it's safe to be on.

Heyo! So if you saw this post you know abt my OCs, if you don’t, hello! Check it out! Anyway if you did I left out an important detail: I want to do something with these OCs one day. Disconnected from Gorillaz, not just fun Tumblr OCs, I want to MAKE something. An indie show, a webcomic series, just a virtual band, I don’t know. I want to share their story with the world, I want to create something of them. I want them to BE something other than my brainworms one day. Keyword: one day. This of course would be a long way away, realistically when I’m moved out and living my own life, but I do want something to be made with them. I want them to be a virtual band just like what inspired them, however because I have little to no musical talent I’d have be the Jamie Hewlett and hire someone ELSE to be my Damon Albarn to this project, but I want something to happen with them. However, in order to do that they need voices, right? Hiring humans would be a lot, and Ai is EVERYTHING against my (and the band’s) values, so in comes my other fixation: Voicebanks! This is just such a fun way to combine all my interests and explore new VBs on the market, on top of giving my OCs voices! So, here they are!

None of the tuning in this video is mine. Whereas I am currently learning how to tune voicebanks myself right now on Open UTAU and VoiSona, I’m nowhere near the level to make a full song yet or cover one, so I used others from YouTube. They are credited in the video! If any of the creators sees this and doesn’t like their work used in my post please do DM me and I will take it down. This is obviously nonprofit (it’s Tumblr) it was just a think piece for my brain and whoever else cares, but it is YOUR work so pls lmk! Don’t be shy to reach out, I won’t be offended! I do plan on doing my own tuning one day, along with making 3D models and learning that by hand, which will take some time but I’ll do my best to work on. I have a good few years I reckon before I can do any of this, like I said, just sorting things around for now.

I literally saw a post where someone said you’re a “racist bigot” If you don’t like listening to Megan Thee Stallion, and backed it up with an ACTUAL ARGUMENT. Not to mention how welcome proshippers and radqueers feel here. We’ve lost the plot and I cannot take it anymore. I only come on here to post and support my moots. That’s it. I don’t even look at fandom art anymore. Since 2020 the internet has went downhill big time and it’s so tiring to just be alive during this time anymore. EDIT: actually no I lied I DO have something small to say: Ships with Noodle (other than NuAce, Self Shipping, or crack ships with existing adult characters who AREN’T the band members or Del) are all just Proship. Maybe I’m too Aroace for this but honestly if you can’t enjoy the narrative and themes without thinking “yeah now imagine these two fucking even though he abused him/they raised her” I genuinely don’t want you on my page. If you think because Gorillaz didn’t “raise her” in a traditional sense and thus shipping Noodle is fine fucking block me if I haven’t you already. If you ship 2doc block me too, not because you guys are so problematic bc you’re not really, I’m just sick of y’all 😭😭

No seriously it definitely gives me the ick that people will say “Erm Murdoc/2D didn’t raise her” and then if someone ships Noodle and Russel it’s “He’s like a father to her” AND??? AREN’T THEY ALL??? Russel is only 3-4 years older than 2D, so it’s not like it’s the age gap that gets them, especially when you think abt them shipping Murdoc with her a lot (especially on ao3. I’ve seen so many fics where Murdoc is a pedo for Noodle, which boils my bones bc wasn’t he FUCKING RAPED AS A CHILD WTF) It’s kinda of like… they’re making the only black character the only caretaker of her… and only see the black character as a caretaker and nothing more… anyone else see what I’m implying here? I’m not super educated on this topic so if anyone else has more to add please repost this or leave it in as ask bc this goes deeper. But I do think his appearance plays into it as well. He’s not a skinny guy with hair (bc Murdoc is brown and they ship Noodle with him sometimes), he’s a fat bald man, so they don’t see him as attractive to ship with Noodle as 2D is. (Which is bs Russel is beautiful but I digress this isn’t the topic at hand) That’s brings it back around to my theory that the ships are the artist’s poorly hidden fetish. They’re apart of a original band they made named Outsiderz, a group of people 5 (6 when Misaki chips in) that have always felt different from the rest of society for their beliefs, styles, opinions, appearance, etc. and feel like they see the issues the mainstream of social media and people don’t, so they made a band to not only feel surrounded by people like them, but also to spread the word about topics they feel like we as society have turned a blind eye to. Reject False icons is back, and this time with younger eyes and ears to help sound the alarm.

Also before we begin, in this AU Del was never Exorcised out of Russel, as he was too deep in Russel’s soul to be pulled out in between phases 1 and 2, so he’s been with him since and strengthened over the years due to their bond, and he can materialize now fully in his own without knocking Russel out or possessing him/taking over his body, all thanks to the Spirit House’s energy in Phase 4.

And since Paula’s race is ambiguous in Gorillaz I made her Vietnamese. Okay let’s go!

Marilyn grew up with the band since she was 3 years old, born from Murdoc’s wild days in Mexico before phase 2 began, born in 2003. She’s seen everything, from the horrors of Plastic Beach to the decisions of The Last Cult, and even though her relationship with her father has strained heavily throughout the years, she still sees the others as her family. 2D is like an uncle to her, Noodle is her big sister (who she’s admires to an high degree), and Russel is practically her father (or mother) who filled the failure Murdoc left behind and who Marilyn has grown to not only be just like, but also whom she models her life after in a way. She tries to remind no one of her father and if she is compared to him she might throw up. Murdoc wants to try again, but sometimes you have to learn if you wait too long for something, it will eventually move on without you. She did not like Ace but Ace didn’t mind her. Has never met Paula.

2D’s son however 2D had no role in his upbringing. Turns out the emails from 2D’s wild life himself in 2003 too were true, however nothing ever came of it until Matthew turned 15, realized his stepdad wasn’t his real dad, and wanted the truth. Once he met his dad in 2020 he ended up being stuck with him and the band (and Marilyn) for a few months due to COVID. When he finally was able to go back home he remained in touch with his newfound family and has been apart of them since. Murdoc and Russel are uncles meanwhile Noodle is the aunt. Marilyn is like a cousin to him. Met Paula a few times, they like each other. They think he’s a nice boy.

Jackie, for the record, is absolutely not 2D or Murdoc’s child. After Paula began her tech business (after creating the seagull repelling microchip) she traveled to South Korea for a brand deal and went around with the CEO while she was there, eventually falling pregnant, then the two going their separate ways because neither wanted to settle down and the man didn’t want to be a father. Since then Jackie has been raised alone by her mother and her bà ngoại. She met Matthew in 2020 when 2D and the rest of Gorillaz were on a shopping trip (when stores opened up again) and ran into Paula. Since having no bad blood with her (see the 2020 art book) the two chatted and Matthew got acquainted with Jackie. They swapped phone numbers and eventually went on a few dates before dating. They’ve been together for 5 years now. Jackie hates Murdoc’s entire existence, not for the bathroom incident in ‘98 or for any ideas Paula planted in her mind, but for just simply being a gross egotistical prick his whole life. She’s fine with 2D although she doesn’t speak to him or Russel out of choice. She idolizes Noodle and thinks she’s the best and coolest guitarist in the world but is too shy and full of herself to admit it. Has a small crush on Noodle (this wouldn’t ever be reciprocated though dw) and thinks she’s an absolute icon for music.

After dating Marilyn for 3 years now (since Cracker Island when the band moved to California in April’s Neighborhood) he’s gotten rather acquainted with the band members. She enjoys her talks with 2D and Russel probably the most, likes occasionally speaking with Noodle and Del, however due to Marilyn opening up about her past, even if he’s better, it’s very hard to like Murdoc as much as the others. Due to being a heavy people pleaser, however, they wouldn’t ever admit to this and speak to him with the same level of respect and kindness as they do the others. They don’t hate Murdoc but they’re not a huge fan of him either. Murdoc, on the other hand, likes April and is just happy Marilyn is happy for once.

Marilyn’s friend from College in California during Cracker Island, Misaki hasn’t met much of Gorillaz at all, nor does she listen to their music (she’s likes music from the 30s-80s), but as a drummer herself (as a hobby not in the band) she absolutely adores Russel and thinks he’s an incredible musician. Same with Noodle, although she doesn’t play guitar, she loves her fashion sense and energy and sees her as a good icon for Asian women in the music industry. Likes talking to 2D, has only seen Del once but considers them friends (they’re not really), and has never met Jackie’s mother or Ace, obviously.
