I can't remember who said it but I saw a comment or tweet talking about hypocrisy that essentially said The Hypocrisy Is The Point. hypocrisy is power. it's the ability to set rules for everyone else except you. and if power is a virtue then hypocrisy is a virtue. it's why you never really get anywhere with "by your logic..." or "then wouldn't that mean...". it's not that they don't realize they're being hypocritical. they do it on purpose to prove that you have to listen to them and they don't have to listen to you

Hot take: there is no punishment 'too harsh' for males who intimidate, violate, stalk, harass, or abuse women. "he's so young/ he doesn't know better/ you'll ruin his future, etc." i don't care. he made the choice to ruin it himself. any time the justice system shows leniency toward male perpetrators, it strips victims everywhere of their right to recourse and further entrenches the misogynistic idea that one man's reputation is more important (more worth protecting) than all women and girls

Guys a few days ago i saw these two guys that were both probably in their early twenties at the store at like nine o'clock at night and one of them was wearing these fuzzy duck sandals that quacked loudly every time he took a step and his friend was pacing away from him as fast as he could going “I don’t know you. We are not friends.” While the other laughed hysterically about his duck shoes.
