Tbh, it ought to be studied what draws the most rancidly racist people to the most uwu art styled media. Because it seems like they believe they are too babey to watch mature media with live adults, but also want their squishy doll babey characters to say slurs and make assault jokes so like... What's the draw? Why do you seek the veneer of innocence while wanting the behavior of.... Ope. Wait. Yeah I just answered my own question.
TLDR: this white queer person tried to hold other white queer people accountable for their racism and they DID NOT LIKE THAT
Well, okay then!
HELP so tadc used isn't she lovely so now every fucking comment section under the song is full of white tadc fans. i cant find any goddamn PEACE 😭
They said the nigga jokes not enough, they gotta see about nigga music too now!
Jokes aside, class, what was it that Delroy Lindo's character (Delta Slim) in Sinners say about Black music versus Black people? 🗣️
Ngl the added context of why the song was used makes it worse fr. Lovely song about a joyous relationship between Black father and daughter... Into a memorial song for a dead villain who apparently we're supposed to feel sorry for... As if there weren't any other songs in this world to pick 😅😭 why do y'all do these things to us 😭 did a Black person push your grandma off a cliff
Entirely appropriate reaction
i hate the way fat antagonists have their weight moralized and used as a metaphor for greed and corruption and i hate the way it's overcorrected into fat people being "soft squishy friend-shaped cupcakes who look like they give incredible hugs" and i long for the day we have nuanced, interesting, and complicated fat characters and most of all i long for the day people are normal about fatness

so about the “isn’t she lovely” sequence, if there wasn’t such mistreatment of black characters and black fans, do you think it would still be appropriate for tadc to reinterpret the song’s meaning?
No.
The concept of trying to reinterpret the song's meaning is exactly what I have an issue with.
"Isn't She Lovely" is a Black song, made by a Black man for his Black daughter. It is a song about Black joy, about Black fatherhood and beautiful Black baby girls. It is about Black people. It is for Black people.
Yet again, the issue is not with gender, but it is about race. To take that song out of its original context and rehash it into something whiter is what I take the most offense to, it's completely disrespectful and it doesn't even pay homage to the original culture. It's a form of whitewashing that is incredibly sinister, because it often follows along the logic of "wanting everything to be for everybody".
But you can't possibly partake in other cultures if you do not understand those cultures first, if you don't take the time to listen and be generous. To them, the song is just a song. Like most facets of the show, they take these brilliant works and strip them down to scraps, then try to spin that into something brilliant by telling people to look at the "abstract" and what isn't there. Then people go and theorize and completely overwrite the original intention, they erase the meaning, and it's very painful to witness.
The mistreatment of Black people both in and outside of the show is WHY they used the song in the first place, certainly part of it. If they had respect for Black people then this wouldn't even be a conversation.

thinking about that OC poll some more...
I rarely keep all the details of the face claim for my OCs. Most of the time I don't even have a face claim until years later 😂
I have the general idea of what they should look like in my mind and that's usually it. Sometimes I'll use a game with a good character creator to bring the vision to life. When I come across a face claim though, it hits me immediately. Definitely happened with my Tabris & my Shepard. Saw the pictures and I was exactly like the Leo pointing meme 🤣
Have you ever had a colonoscopy (you can count it if you're going to have one soon)? I just had my second one :/
Have you ever had a colonoscopy?
Yes
No

OC Poll
something I've always been interested about! And I love reading how people develop/make their OCs
This is for ALL ocs, whether it be for an original story, an RPG (like Baldur's Gate or Dragon Age), or OC X Canon for any media
If you have a faceclaim for your OC, is it an exact one? (Looks exactly like the person)
Yes
No (different hair/eye color, body type, etc)
Other (explain in replies/tags)
RESULTS!
Ok excuse my posting, I'm going crazy at work today, but if your Infamous MC were to do karaoke what would they sing? Would it be similar in style to their usual music/singing?
