So as it turns out your sense of self doesnt exist in a vacuum. You gotta actually use it and bounce it off of other people like echolocation to see where you are as a person and shit. nearly every group combat MMO i've played has had an 'everybody stack together on the marked player' mechanic so it's really charming to me that despite this, in every group instance this mechanic appears, and no matter how clearly you try to delineate the marker with an icon of inwards pointing arrows and a pile of people or so on, when players get any sort of marker over their head, their first reflex is always I need to run away from the pack and die alone in a cave now for the safety of everyone
