there was one (1) occasion where i just had to go LOOK MAN I DONT WANNA HURT YOUR FEELINGS AND I CAN GUARANTEE THAT IM GOING TO IF YOU KEEP TALKING TO ME IM SORRY GOODBYE which also didnt go over well particularly

#one time i was training this woman who had to be twenty years older than me #for the stupidest most menial job that did not matter #and she was SO kind. but SO nervous about messing up #and her nerves manifested in EXCEPTIONALLY awkward ways #so like. she would not hear basic instructions or would totally misconstrue them #which i can live with #but it also happened person-to-person in the breakroom #and no matter how much i tried to reassure her that everything was fine and the world wasnt going to end—#and i was the ‘supervisor’ at night and didnt give a shitttttt about the work getting done and just wanted people to show up and get paid #she could NOT relax for more than an hour at a time #and this all culminated #in me being in the breakroom cooking something in the microwave #and there were. crucially. two microwaves in this breakroom #and she walked in and we were friendly and she had messes up like thirty things that night and none of it was a big deal but she was nervous #but she walked over #and stopped my microwave #while the other was free #and my jaw just dropped and i REALLY worked to contain myself but BOYYY WAS THAT ONE FOR THE BOOKS #anyway i just got up and corrected it because some part of my brain had been trained to anticipate accidents around her and i’d logged—#the time my food was at #she apologized PROFUSELY and only got more nervous #i sincerely hope she’s doing well but boy howdy i will never forget that coworker
