nobody ever talks about how saying non-binary genders donât exist is racist as fuck
How?
many many many indigenous cultures have historically included more than two genders and to say that those genders do not exist is to say that those cultural traditions are invalid, and that only the imperialist gender binary is correct. which is racism.Â

For those who donât like Wikipedia
THISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHIS
THE WESTERN IDEA OF TWO GENDERS IS EXACTLY THAT
WESTERN
THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CULTURES ACROSS THE WORLD WHO SEE GENDER AS A SPECTRUM OR OTHER FORM OUTSIDE OF TWO GENDERS
Judaism has been recognizing six genders for thousands of years.Â
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_and_Judaism
SIX.
JUDAISM.
Fuck off with this âbinary gender is commanded by Godâ bullshit.Â
I have continually said that gender binarism is deeply rooted in white supremacy and colonialism for this reason and itâs why I often include discussions and mentions of racism while talking about gender.
Anyway, transphobes are always, without a doubt, intersexphobic as well.
Think about it this way: A peri cis straight guy finds out that the girl heâs dating is intersex and happens to have a penis or testicles etc. - He gets angry at her for âlyingâ, throwing transmisogynist slurs at her, physical violence etc. Do you really think heâs going to stop his violence if the girl says âActually Iâm not a trans woman, Iâm intersexâ?
The answer is no. Because, letâs be honest, cisgender and perisex people literally could not give two shits about the difference. They do not care. We violate the sex binary simply by existing, thus our existence is a threat to them.
Intersex people are at risk of violence from people who uphold the sex binary, just like trans people are at risk of violence from people who uphold the gender binary - the sex binary and gender binary go hand-in-hand, and that leads to an overlap in our oppression. And weâre at higher risk of violence if weâre both intersex and trans.
But the underlying ideology relies on the other to uphold itself as a system of oppression. You cannot be intersexphobic without being transphobic, and you cannot be transphobic without being intersexphobic as well.
Transmisogyny and intersexism specifically overlap a lot, especially with fetishization along with the previously mentioned violence.
Important information about Philly trans wellness. Tldr: theyâve ousted the trans group running it from the start (was started by a TWoC) and itâs now a cis management team with a problematic history of ignoring/being poorly responsive to transgender concerns. I am withdrawing from presenting next year. You can see me at Trans Ohio instead.

ah yes, tumblr is âbanning pornâ, you know, âââpornâââ, like that one time they had their bots tag basically all lesbian and trans blogs as ââââââpornâââââ. i truly trust the clowns who run this website to not literally fuck this up in the most heinous way imaginable while desperately begging for apple to restore their shitty app
unfriendly reminder that one of the tags they wiped out completely since the ban from App Store was the top surgery tag. yknow, a tag that is Very important for trans men and 9 times outta 10 doesnât count as NSFW
Real talk tho âfemale-presenting nipplesâ is indeed a hilariously ludicrous phrase that deserves to be mocked but I hope yâall are smelling the cisnormative stink wafting off this shit from a mile away and how itâs going to absolutely fuck over trans/NBâs peopleâs self-expression on this hellsite. Will a pre-op trans man not be allowed to post a pic with his shirt off? Will a pre-op trans woman be allowed? How do you define âfemale-presenting nippleâ without immediately conjuring up some gender essentialist bullshit? Oh yeah you canât. But I guess fucking over trans/NB folks is okay if it gets your shitty app back on the App Store right?
@staff @support sending the message that transphobia is fine as long as itâs profitable. Yeah that sure make the site safer for everyone.Â
Hi TTSG!
Kii says:
With Tumblrâs current attempt to limit adult content, it seems like most of TTSGâs new posts are not being seen. Unfortunately, this is an issue that @support and @staff will have to solve, as it is out of our hands. We are not sure if our posts are intentionally being limited, or if it is a bug, but we will keep this blog up and running to the best of our abilities.
We encourage you to look through our resource pages, as asks are not always being seen. You may also have more luck sending an ask off-anon that we can reply to anonymously.
Weâre sorry for this response delay, and we hope this message is able to reach you. We will keep you updated as much as possible, but we are also in the dark about how this update is affecting our blog.
Kii says:
Reblogging, because it seems like people can see our posts from their dashboards, but not our blog. Iâll reblog this a few times in the hopes it ends up on more peopleâs dashboards, and would appreciate if others are able to reblog it as well! We donât want to leave yâall in the dark, but itâs difficult to reach people right now.
i know ive talked about this before but we literally have no reason not to bring the original gay flag made in the 70s by gilbert baker back to regular use!
the pink stripe was simply taken away because pink fabric was too expensive to mass reproduce at the time, and the turquoise stripe was taken away for a really odd reason: for the harvey milk remembrance parade in 1979, they wanted three stripes on each side of the street and didnât want it to be asymmetrical, so they did away with the turquoise stripe. like, they could have fixed it in some other way without removing a whole stripe, but eh whatever historyâs history.
the pink originally symbolized sex and the turquoise was for magic/art and it would just be really cool if we could bring both the stripes back into regular use again since there wasnât any significance behind the removal of the stripes and weâre perfectly capable of mass producing flags with all the stripes again!
if anyone is interested, in 2017, shortly before he died, gilbert baker added a 9th stripe in lavender to represent diversity, partly in response to trumpâs election. while i dont expect it to gain any kind of widespread usage, it is an interesting fact!

Reading wiki entries for historical trans menâŚ
Dr. James Barry, Albert Cashier, Charley Parkhurst, Billy Tipton, and Dr. Alan Hart could have each written âI am a man and want to be recognized across history as suchâ and transphobes would still be like⌠âwow what misunderstood butch heroes⌠lesbian icons!!!!â
interesting how they⌠didnât all write that. across history women have disguised themselves as men in order to escape misogyny cus u couldnât get anywhere much in life (much less become successful doctors) as women. and anyways, of course a woman constrained by sexism would prefer to be given the privileges of a man. i canât confirm these women were lesbians, but you cannot confirm they were transmen either.Â
Interesting how⌠I didnât argue that women havenât disguised themselves throughout history. I mentioned specific instances of historical trans men for whom there is evidence to conclude they identified as men and not women. I said nothing against lesbians in my post either, only about transphobes.
Anyways:Â
Dr. James Barry had a close relationship with Lord Charles Somerset and was subsequently accused of buggery, which led to a court trial and investigation as homosexuality was illegal. He could have revealed that he was female at any time during the trial to escape condemnation, but he did not. Upon his death, Barry left strict instructions that his body was not to be undressed and he was to be buried in his bedsheets.Â
Albert Cashier could not read or write, but lived as a man for 53 years, even after fighting in the uniform of a Union soldier, he maintained his male dress and presentation until he slipped and fell, breaking his hip.Â
The indomitable stagecoach driver Charlie Parkhurst lived as a man from the time he was 12, and after retiring, maintained his identity as a man until his death.
Also itâs interesting that you said that I could not undeniably prove any of these men were trans: Alan L Hart was undeniably trans, as he sought out medical transition and pyschotherapy for his gender dysphoria, referred to himself as âone of the fellows,â legally changed his name, lived as a man from a young age, and continued to do so until his death, so yeah, you really canât say âoh heâs a lesbian,â can you?
while billy tipton mightâve initially identified as a lesbian, he later transitioned to presenting male full-time. he told his future female partners that he was a man and that his body was the result of a serious car accident. he went on to adopt children, and was known as a âgood fatherâ. at the age of 74, he refused to be seen by a doctor when he contracted emphysema, which caused his death. neither his later female partners or his children or friends seemed to know he was trans until he was forcefully outed at death
iâd also like to add
little ax broadnax, a gospel singer who performed in multiple quartets over the years with his older brother. while still living with his family, he was recorded in the US census as male. he was outed publicly as a trans man at death in 1992, having presented as male for over 60 years
I hate when radfems INSIST that none of these fellas would id as a trans man, or that they were just presenting male for societal gain and it had nothing to do with personal identity whatsoever.Â
itâs true we canât know for sure how they would identify today because they didnât have those words back then. maybe some would id as butch. maybe some would id as trans or nb or transmasc butch or any number of things. they didnât have the language to do so.Â
Whatâs super insulting, however, is the insistence that an afab person must ONLY be taking on a male role bc of misogyny or to climb the social ladder, when being a masculine afab person has always been a dangerous thing to be. any of these people, no matter what language they would use to describe themselves, took a huge risk in living as men. it just reinforces the idea that afab people are naturally feminine and if they deviate itâs for some reason, when some of us are Just Dudes. it does a huge disservice to trans men and butches alike.Â
Also⌠âOf course a woman constrained by sexism would prefer to be given the privleges of a man.â Well, thatâs not *wrong* but itâs missing something important.
Because if that was enough of a motivation to cross-dress? We would have had less âwomenâ in history.
But no. When women cross-dressed it tended to be because they had a specific ambition that was worth it. We have a long history of both non-fiction and fiction showing that. Even legends. They wanted to do a specific thing, they did it, and they went back to dressing like women when they were done or didnât need to anymore.
Itâs very different when you continue to dress as a man after you donât need to anymore. When you donât even tell the people you love. When your risking a minimum of being outcast from society up to being executed.
Putting up with Dysphoria you didnât previously have from presenting as the wrong gender isnât worth that. Guess what is? Finally presenting as the right gender and getting relief from Dysphoria. Possibly even gender Euphoria.
How do we know relief from Dysphoria And/or gender Euphoria are worth having to put up with a womanâs rights? Trans women exist and always have.
This. Honestly, thereâs some really obvious stuff here that it seems like transphobic people seem to fight to be able to ignore. I mean, this isnât rocket surgery, we arenât rigging a proton torpedo to detect ionized gas emissions. This is really basic stuff.
Itâs kinda like the whole soy beans and phytoestrogens thing. If soy had a feminizing effect, then trans women would know because weâve been trying to make it work like that for decades, if not longer.
This is why facile, surface interpretations just canât hold up to scrutiny. They will always fall apart on the logic.
So, just to restate @shaaknaaâs fantastic addition:
If the men mentioned above were just women trying to escape misogyny, why donât we have more examples of women pretending to be men for their entire lives to draw from? Why do we have countless examples of women who passed as men for a specific reason, only to go back to presenting as women once that reason had passed?
This is why deduction is an important skill to learn. Itâs one of the ways we can really test our logic when thereâs a lack of concrete data to work from. And depending on the deduction youâre making, the conclusions you draw can be quite solid and dependable.
While weâre at it, Iâd just like to point out that the so-called radical so-called feminist above is erasing the important, groundbreaking work in both womenâs medicine and womenâs rights by Dr. Barryâs contemporary:
(Yes, she falls into the same white-feminist trap as a lot of early suffragettes. Thatâs a whole other can of worms.)
âCouldnât get anywhere much in life as a woman.â When I hear that, I look for the women who did it. Because I think more of us than that. Why donât you?

Hey @ Wikipedia, if you could not list a trans personâs deadname right after their name that would be great.
Hey @ literally every piece of media in the universe you too
Excellent news! Editors who retain deadnames in articles are violating Wikipediaâs Gender Identity guidelines, at least implicitly. You are fully empowered to, and absolutely should, remove any deadname you find on Wikipedia. Editors who tell you otherwise are simply incorrect, and you should refer them to the relevant entry in the Wikipedia Manual of Style.
BOOOOOST
Pro-trans users have long called for this change.
Twitter has prohibited misgendering and deadnaming on its platform in an effort to curtail anti-trans abuse.
The social media company has changed its rules to ban the practices and has warned that any user who deliberately targets a trans person in these ways may face permanent suspension.
These offensive techniquesâwhich involve using the wrong gender to refer to a trans person or a trans personâs old nameâare often used on Twitter to insult and erase trans peopleâs identities and right to exist.

Okay so I just got off the phone with them. I talked to a trans girl named Aurora & she was super helpful! She gave me a few doctors to talk to & encouraged me to seek therapy instead of just rushing to get my pills. She literally found a trans friendly therapist in my town & I would definitely recommend giving them a call!
Check out their website for monetary help here! People can apply for ID assistance in the form of microgrants, which I previously had no idea about! Also trans folks can train to be a hotline operator, how awesome is that??

Two-spirit was first coined in the 90s as an umbrella term to describe LGBTQI+ Native Americans and First Nations. The term was coined for natives by natives.
Two-spirit is an identity that belongs to the indigenous people of the Americas, non native Americans or First Nations have no right to call themselves two-spirit or can even be two-spirit.
Stop turning other peopleâs cultures into an accessory just because you think itâs cool.
sorry to burst your bubble but misgendering âbadâ trans ppl is just as transphobic as misgendering any other trans person bc it implies being correctly gendered is merely a privilege that may be revoked by cis ppl so long as they dont like us which is an incredibly harmful mindset to promote.
