Terf, while arguably not a slur, is definitely a term of derogation. The context in which it is used is to discredit a woman you don’t agree with. By denouncing her reputation, status, and merits of her argument as one not worthy of consideration on the basis that you disagree with her, you are therefore attempting to silence her. Terf is the contemporary equivalent of feminazi, heretic, and witch.
