[IDs from alt: 1: A title spread printed in fluorescent pink and cornflower blue risograph ink. The following zine is entirely hand-drawn and handwritten. The front cover reads "Punk & Being Trans" and has a subtitle that says "issue 3: the one where i'm fuckin tired of being nice". The back cover includes the credits, which links to the artist @panstarri / @panstarry and the website xines.neocities.org. There are abstract pink brushstrokes in the background.
The following spreads of the zine are printed in varying shades of metallic gold, bright red, and black ink. This one opens with an all-caps statement of "Holy fuck I'm sick of this shit!!" with jagged shapes surrounding the type.
Similarly scribbled is "Everything sucks bad" with "I'm so pissed off all the time!!!" noted next to the statement. On the right is a doodle of the artist, Xin, covering their eyes and laying down on the ground, frustrated.
It then goes on to say, "There's some sort of stigma associated with being a trans p.o.c. and showing emotion". In this sentence, "stigma" is emphasized by a bold scratchy typeface, highlighted by crying eyes underneath the word. The next page reads "I can only handle being like, 'this is fine!' in the face of clear bigotry so many times". The dialogue is separated by a speech bubble that leads to a smiling doodle of Xin, giving a big thumbs up.
In this spread, the body text is framed by barbed wire, broken by wire cutters. Half of the spread is covered by a large white feathered wing. The text reads "transgender liberation is tied directly to abolition and all freedom from colonization, capitalism, racism, classism, ableism, so on and so forth." The background behind the frame has light vertical stripes, symbolizing jail bars.
A simplified version of a voting ballot has "War Criminal Suckfest" as its title in all caps, then has checkboxes for Cunt #1, Cunt #2, and Cunt #3 crossed out. The latter has an arrow pointing to it that says "this one's a woman!". The page is decorated with a light blood splatter. On the left side, a spiky callout speech bubble reads "we cannot rely on neoliberal structures of government to save us".
Through white smoke in the red sky, text reading "I've had enough of being palatable, of dumbing myself down, of defanging statements and calls to action. Why are we trying to conform to the mainstream?" is visible. In the corner are two bandaids crossed over each other.
"Our rage, grief, and joy are all seen as 'distasteful'. Respectability politics only result in the censorship and dehumanization of our most vulnerable. Stand the fuck up! If not now, when?"
The last spread reads "We are taking things into our own hands. We have to survive, live, thrive! Despite it all, we must keep going!!" The background has a loose drawing of Xin bent over a guitar.
The last image features the poster printed on the backside of the zine. It reads "We're Still Here" in fluorescent pink, and "fuck you! you can't get rid of me that easily!!!" is scrawled on the cornflower blue background. End IDs]
