I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with relating to characters, “they’re literally me” etc but if that’s the only way you engage with stories you’re kinda missing the whole point of Characters being vehicles through which we can see perspectives outside of our own. and also you’re going to get upset when the Character acts in a way that is not Personally Relatable to You

its nice to see stuff like this because it reminds you that theyre actually the weird ones. their rhetoric just relies on them portraying themselves as "voices of the people" fighting for what no one else will stand up for, despite most people probably thinking their behavior is embarrassing and not worth it. open terfs, racists, nazis, homophobes, misogynists, general transphobes- are all just extremely pissed off and angry minorities that make it everyone else's problem as much as they possibly can so that they seem bigger than they are. that doesnt mean they arent dangerous, it just means we can win. we've got a fighting chance against these losers.

All these tourists having a great time at the World Cup isn't surprising b/c the first rule of America is that this place rules if you have money to blow and it's a nightmare if you don't. The prohibitively high cost of attending the World Cup filtered out all the ppl who don't have money so all the people who actually made it to the U.S. are basically guaranteed to have fun

when I feel bad about my ability to write interesting stories I try to think about the skyrim wizard college questline

you join wizard college. in the main room there is an elf in all black robes who stands there all day. the other characters are like "I think that guy is a spy for the elf cops". you can talk to the elf and he says he's an elf cop. later you find a magic orb, and the other wizards are like "I bet that elf is planning something with the orb" and once again elf cop is like "we the elf cops should have that orb". you have to go fight some skeletons in a dungeon because uhhhh and when you get back elf cop has killed the head wizard off camera with the orb for some reason. you fight more skeletons in a different dungeon to get a magic staff to turn off the orb and kill elf cop. then elf CIA shows up and takes the orb because I guess it was theirs and they dropped it. you are now the most powerful wizard in skyrim
