I try to encourage my children to study, but I stop at a painful question: What can I reward them with?

Yusuf, my youngest child, was born during the war and will soon turn three. Three years of his life have passed without knowing what play should feel like for a child, without choosing a toy from a store, and without experiencing the joy of a small gift from his parents.

Even toy stores are no longer the same. Their shelves are nearly empty, and what remains has become rare, like items displayed for viewing, with prices beyond what most families can afford.

And there is nowhere else to make up for it... No amusement parks, no playgrounds, and not even a zoo where we can take them to experience a moment of happiness.

Why are children’s toys being prevented from entering?

What danger could a doll or a ball possibly represent, other than giving a child a small piece of the childhood that was taken away from them?
