hello, my name is trevor
he/him
20-something
a little about me:
i love the ecological sciences and all systems of nature. i have a degree in wildlife ecology and management, not that i’ve gotten around to using it. regardless, the natural world/universe is sacred to me.
i am a trans man and queer.
i consider myself to be left-of-center in my politics, but i believe in bridging gaps between different sides. if you believe me a traitor because i think it’s more important to connect with people i disagree with than condemn them as evil then that’s a you problem. i despise all radical politics whether they be left or right, because radicalism always drives people apart instead of bringing them together.
on this blog you will find a lot of content supporting the jewish community in their ongoing fight against rising antisemitism. i am not jewish myself but am proud to consider myself an ally to jews in this fight. if you’re one of those people who thinks jews don’t have a right to self determination in their native homeland or thinks it’s okay to scapegoat random jews for the war crimes committed by the israeli government, you should probably block me because i don’t want anything to do with you.
i’m currently exploring different religious/spiritual practices, mostly ones that center animism and reverence for nature, so you’re probably going to see content of that sort as well.
my takes:
antizionism is antisemitism BECAUSE it promotes the idea that zionism is genocidal by its very nature, and it redefines a specifically jewish term — a word that means the right for jews to self determination in their native homeland — without input from the jewish community. taking a jewish term and demonizing it is antisemitic.
the israeli government has committed war crimes but if you think it’s uniquely horrible amongst all nations then you really need a reality check. it is neither the worst country for war crimes nor does israel have a shockingly high amount of blood on its hands compared to many other countries even right now.
oct 7 was a horrific attack that was committed with genocidal intent by hamas. if you in any way minimize what happened that day i sincerely think you’re a horrible human being and deserve to be treated with the same disregard you give for jewish life.
if you call any jew a nazi then you’ve lost your right to an opinion on anything.
tankies can eat shit. y’all are the worst types of people that the left has ever produced.
anyone who uses the hammer and sickle is either malicious, an idiot, or a malicious idiot.
some practices are closed. you can believe what you want but if you’re taking mythology, imagery, or practices from a closed practice then you’re doing a cultural appropriation. especially if you’re bastardizing it. looking at you, lilith worshippers.
i’m borderline anti-vegan, as an ex-vegan. sustainability doesn’t require you to give up animal products and many vegan products and practices are explicitly bad for the environment. if you’re a vegan who respects others, that’s perfectly fine and i wish you all the best despite my belief that it’s an inherently unhealthy diet. if you’re the type of vegan who compares farming to mass rape, slavery, the holocaust, etc. or proselytizes veganism like the worst christian then, sincerely, fuck all the way off.
on that note, this user is pro-wool, pro-leather, pro-(non factory farmed) fur, pro-hunting, pro-beekeeping, etc.
i have a certain distaste for all religions that proselytize and imperialize. i respect individual christians and muslims, but i believe that christianity and islam as institutions need to be criticized for their faults.
russia is a terrorist state. i personally hope i live long enough to see it dissolve and all the regions that were colonized by russia to become independent democratic states.
*holds your hand gently* please understand that the further left you go doesn’t equate to you being morally superior. a leftist can be just as shitty as a MAGA right winger.
